Michellin, Pilot Sport or somthing like that im fairly sure 2/3 tread? i think. stripping them off this afternoon since i dont wanna lose my license (;
What we need is a group buy with big arse tyres with a smaller ( legal ) size printed on the side. As for the Wog Cop - did you remember to drop a $100 in front of him . It's how they do it in most of those wog countrys.
How typical. You do the wrong thing by fitting tyres with an incorrect "rolling diameter", but it's the cops fault for pinging you. As for the battery clamp[and your offer to re-fit it]would you really expect to get stopped for exceeding the speed limit and be let off by offering to drive past again at the correct speed? Wake up sonny.
Where in QLD are you? Can you get a quote from e-go to freight to Townsville depot please? If it doesn't cost too much to freight them and the tread is at least 2/3 as you say I'll take em off your hands
wank on please confirm what safety impact these larger tyres have... if there is no or very minimal risk to 3rd parties by using these tyre/rims what the hell is the problem... i get the feeling these rules are made up by a pencil pushers with a few quick and easy calculation for no other reason than to justify their position... gotta do something to substantiate having a governement job after all. how many dumb laws can one country have... if you have lived abroad in a country probably considered less free than here... once you return you realise how bloody dictated to we are over things of minimal concern. But as normal ppl on here say... well the laws the law and u broke it... hang on the laws are made by our representative in parliament, however their laws rarely represent common sense. less bullshit trival laws more services and infrastruture, you know it makes sense im sam kickovich long lost nephew.
If people don't want to get stung by the cops just follow the damn law, it's that simple! This is the size Im running on the Back 285-30-18 and it's 99% the same rolling Diameter as stock.
I put 245 35's on the rear and feels better imo :/ seems like tis got more grunt? probly all in the head doesnt take much effort to kick it out now either ;]] Ill check it up next week, unless somone local picks em up since its easier for me
If you can freight them with e-go and its reasonable I will take them off ya for $100 mate. I run 245/35 r19 all round at the moment and have always had 35 tyres on my car since I bought it.. All the tyre places have told me thats the correct tyre, I don't understand the issue but rules is rules... PM me if you keen mate, you can just do an online quote with e-go. www.e-go.com.au They can come to any address and pick them up off you. Cheers, Adam
ok just follow them, be a lemming he says, dont question the rules your representatives give you to live by, sounds like you would have loved living in the third reich, blind obedience. The law has to exist for a logical reason that is in the general good of the public. Tell me the general good this law serves? laws change every day they are arbitary thing set by politicians who are intent on one thing, maintaing their position/power. Whats more, this law was in all likelihood made under a delegated power. So some governement johnny, probably a so called expert made these guidelines under the under delegated authority, who the hell voted that bureaucrat to run shot gun making in all probability ill conveiced rules for the rest of us. All I ask is can anyone explain to me why this law exists, and why is needs to exist for the greater good? and if there isnt a greater good its arbitary and should be abolished. If your so for compliance with rules and regs, take your zed to an expert and ask him to go over it with a fine tooth comb, Im sure they would find something with most cars to keep em off the road.
The rules are there so this does not happen on our roads or this I'd hate to be driving toward either of thoses.
I'm waiting for the day the boys in blue pull me up over my tyres, and try and tell me their illegal,,, pulls out the QLD Transport Inspection Notice on Road worthiness and points to the " PASSED " AND SIGNATURE and tell them to go and argue with them. Sounds like the Police Officer was having a bad day, and you were just his poor victim.
The law is there for either A) Safety, B) Profit, seems to me in Australia is seems to be more for the later, not all, just most cases, which is sad.
Pakistani cops are cool. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/81341397/ Reminds me I have to go sort my battery bracket, how much was the fine for the bracket ?
Yeah true that Yellow300zx, they think they are a law unto themselves. Still wanna see them argue with that lovely bit of paper,,, but then again they'll probably try and find something else to pick on me about lol like i'm an old fart driving a hoon car so i must be a hoon :br:
I lost a demerit point and 60$ i dont care for the $$$ to much but he was an ass for taking a demerit point off me since and i only have like 1 now :/ he took one for the tyres also :< !! He also tried telling me i wasnt alloud to drive this car.. LOL! typical and then said well your not alloud to drive a car with more then 200kw apparently? so i said well it didnt come with more then that and it surely doesnt have that now as its going on 20yrs I would stilll like to think that my na has a fair bit of grunt (; I started googling on my phone to find the specs to show him but he said the information would probably not be accurate anyway hahahaha... he said hes gonna look up and if im not legally alloud to drive it he will send me a fine :O as long as he doesnt think its a turbo ....
I'll disregard your "wank"comment(as your obviously don't have the capacity to understand simple fact). Fact: "Excessive Speed" is the number one cause for injury and loss of life on our roads(Statistical evidence is prolific for this claim). Fact: The speedo fitted to your car calculates the speed by "reading" the number of revolutions of the wheels X the rolling diameter of the tyres, to obtain an accurate indication of the velocity of the vehicle. Fact: If the vehicle is fitted with tyre/wheel combinations that DO NOT maintain the correct ratio(or remain within a narrow allowable band)then the driver will have no accurate way to know what speed he/she is travelling. Fact: If the tyres/wheels have an increased rolling diameter, the "indicated speed" shown by the speedometer will be less than the "actual speed being travelled". This is indisputable and the reason for major concern. Fact: If you don't grasp this concept, then it's you who who should be wearing the "Wanker" badge, not me. Have a nice day.
