Not worth the hassle IMO. Some of the Q45 guys do it as big enough turbo's are really hard to fit in the engine bay.

You can fit twin 3076's, if that isn't big enough for you, then you're crazy.

The Z31 blokes put their big singles left front, there are a few pics of them kicking around. Noone said it was going to be easy in a Z32, jam it in like everything else :D

check out what FORCEFED has done to his VG30 Silvia, that thing has made just over 1000hp at the wheels before. mind you the turbos aren't exactly inconspicuous but it shows it can be done, and in a street car.

Forcefed's is in S14 too, which has a lot more room up the front than in a Zed.

All of this info is great! keep it coming! there is a drag strip here in my home town of Whyalla SA, only 1/8th mile though, in ways i like the smaller track better, it comes down to more driving skill than power of the vehicle :) whyalla is about 3 and a half hours from adelaide, there is a meet on the 7th lf next month. Im thinking about entering again :D

when i took the aircon compressor out of mine it freed up heaps of room and i wondered if a GT35 or TO4Z would fit? maybe it'd sit too low for oil return lines i don't know but you easy get manifolds made up.

Don't know about space but several Z31's have been done that way. One good thing is that room for some nice manifolds is freed up and the dump pipe can be made almost straight, downside is more heat in the engine bay. Turbo should be high enough for the oil drain.

Yer perhaps but hes using 2 x turbos and Im almost certain laughing gas in an S14.
As impressive as his results are, not much to do with a single turbo in a Zed Im afraid!

do you think a 300 front mount could be used by cutting off the passenger side tank and welding on an open one (no internal divider), have the turbo outlet go directly to the new tank then leave the drivers side as is but have both pipes go straight to the throttle bodies? so it would then have an entry on one side and exit the other instead of being a dual pass. it would cut back the amount of plumbing too.

I have a vg30det single turbo in my s13. Used to have a gt3071r. Very responsive 1 bar almost at 2700 rpm's. Good power until 7200 rpm. But it passed away......... Now i'm waiting for a precision 5857 to come. Bigger turbo, capable to get you to almost 600 and more reliable than garrett. I think i'm gonna use it with an external setup. When i finish my new setup i'll post you the results.

Single turbo ftw! Much less complicated setup if you can get it to fit as you only need one of everything...
