nah havent consulted the o2's yet, i was thinking on replacing it but when i got told it had TT injectors, i didnt worry about it.. with the spark plugs, pretty much being black nearly, and when ya rev it hard, black smoke pops out of the ass.. and it been going through shit loads of fuel like 110km to half a tank
well my mate and I drove it and it never lost power or anything.. but at some stages the when idle it would vary between stalling and 1000rpm at times... but yeah starts idles, doens sound like a lawnmower.
Zeds which haven't been maintained show 3 major symptoms. 1) They used a fk load of fuel and blow alot of black smoke. 2) They sound like either a diesel motor, a lawn mower or a WRX 3) They overheat. You've got 2 outa 3 going on here, so I'd get it looked at and take everything the previous owner says about it with a whole boat load of salt. Changing injectors requires certain values in the ECU to be changed, if it has got TT injectors then anything above 1/4 throttle will choke. And sounds like a lawnmower?! Should be a smooth motor. Either your misfiring, stuck lifters, or bearing problems on the front of the motor. All of them bad. How much did you pay for the car?
Its also possible that the previous owner put TT injectors in and got someone to burn them a chip with a stock TT map on it? Get someone to look at it dude. Chuck Conzult on there and pull down the map too.
also the car idles differently.. just been told that it was converted from auto to manual... and they didnt replace the ECU... would that make it use more fuel and idle funny sometimes ?
