Unless you did the service yourself, you had it done extremely cheaply considering the parts cost about $700 for a proper job.

Seems unusual that a '96 spec zed would have an aftermarket steering wheel in place of the airbagged wheel. Do you have any proof that the car is a '96 model as described?

Good luck with the sale, I tried to post your pictures up but eBay wouldn't let me.

    Cheers,

    Adam.

Of course you are 100% sure...

you wouldn't have bought the car for $18,750 if you weren't. The problem is that the members of this forum know their Zeds and we are not sure.

The steering wheel is a real problem. The 96 model has an airbag wheel. Not only is it difficult to remove it, it is silly to remove it, and it is illegal to remove it. But if it wasn't an airbag wheel, it would be OK to change it (some police officers disagree) but then it wouldn't be a 96 model. Your car does not have the right front spoiler to be a 25th anniversary model either (which were 1995 models in Japan, 1996 in Aus). See this carsales shot showing the correct 25th annniversary front spoiler.

Note also the rear spoiler on this car, that was a 25th anniversary special too. Did yours look like that before it was removed?

Open up the bonnet, find the aluminium build plate and post up the Chassis No embossed on it. Then you can confirm for sure what year model it is.

Some time ago one of the members noticed a Zed advertised as a 2000 model in a car yard, but it actually was a 1989 with a 2000 front bar. My own Zed was advertised as a 1993 model, but it turned out to be a 1990. If you have been fooled, take comfort that you are not the first, but I am sure there would be some comeback if the original seller blatantly misrepresented the car.

    Good luck with it.

If you tell us the VIN number, the number stamped on the firewall of the car, we can put any doubts as to the year of the car aside. I'm sure many people on here can check Nissan's FAST system to verify. If we can verify it, the interest in your car will increase.

    Cheers

For the reasons said by Barry, it looks like it was complianced in 1996, not built then. As was said, this mis-representation often happens.

Posting the VIN number will be able to clear this up.

Either way, good luck with the sale.
