Your black donor car isn't looking too bad either! Glad you enjoyed the TT drive today. Puts a smile on your face, hey?
Thanks for the suggestions David, we dropped the oil, no change, tried changing the settings on the TPS, again no difference So... we dropped the gearbox out of the wreck and got a nice surprise, the car wasnt advertised with a one piece shaft, but there it was So up on stands she goes ready for the new box On the weekend we dropped the gearbox and ya wouldnt believe it but... looks like this one has something scraping on it as it has some slight rust spots, not sure yet what is doing that The rear main seal wasnt dry so I ordered that and it arrived today oh and here is the difference between the 2 different styles of seatbelts, the one on the left is the Klippan
i don't know if you are aware the converter in that first picture isnt standard unless someone has gone to all the trouble of pulling it to paint it red which i doubt they would have.
Wouldn't surprise me, the box was pretty clean when we pulled it out. But it has a new home now and seems to be running quite nicely... except I have no speedo, but that wasnt working before we pulled the box anyway... time for some more research.. after a good drive of course
except I have no speedo, but that wasnt working before we pulled the box anyway... time for some more research.. after a good drive of course [/QUOTE] The speedo could be an internal issue in the cluster, there is a mechanism with a pin it , if the pin is broken it's not repairable, it could just be a copper wire in the same area that has come loose and it is usually repairable. Take it too Otto's Instruments over at evans road salisbury . http://www.ottoinstruments.com.au/
Thanks Scotty... a job for another day I think it was working intermittently before we pulled the box and whilst driving it around this afternoon it started working again, might be a broken wire somewhere perhaps.. Anyway, have wheels will travel...lol ...off to again to show some friends
So... the speedo now seems to be working fine, go figure... Nice to have a Zed with a working heater! Cruise control works and its nice to be able to set it higher than 110 klm, and no bloody 105 klm ding! Getting a little exhaust noise as I broke one of the studs off the catalytic converter, I was hoping it would knit up close enough with only 1 bolt, guess not. Also there was no temp sensor on the exhaust, must be another one of the Auspec differences
I think this thread might turn into a multi project thing... So with the Pearl car going in for some panel work in a couple of weeks I have been getting some suspension bits ready for my other toy fitted these wheels to her a couple of weeks ago, growing to quite like them going to do a complete subframe swap, already has the rods and arms might touch up the calliper paint before it goes in HSD: 8k front 5k rear, now i can drop the ride height, also fitting FUCAs and tension rods anyone know a really good wheel alignment place so I can get it dialled in right? cheers
rims to look good, but you gotta get another centre cap. first thing i noticed was the mssing cap on that pic. or you could just remove all the centre caps. thatd work too.
totally agree... quite annoying when they are missing... they stand out, I have another set of mags with no centers at all... must drop into a tyre/wheel place and see what I can pick up... surely there cant be that many different sizes?? anyone have any suggestions to find caps out Brisbane west way?
Centre caps all over eBay. Just measure the diameter/circumference and look at the pics to find the style.
So did timing belt, oil pump seal, thermostat, tensioner, pulleys and replacement radiator on the weekend as the car started to get a bit hot a few weeks back when i got stuck in traffic... and to address an oil leak from what we thought was the crank... however the leak is still there seems to be coming from the drivers side... we adjusted the power steering pump hoses as well but I am pretty sure the leak is oil. Have yet to get under and have a good look... any suggestions where the leak might be coming from and what to look for? ----------------------------- thanks David, didnt think about ebay went into supercrap couple of months back thinking you might be able to get blanks off the shelf... they told me they dont stock anything like that and a wheel and tyre place might be the go... if i was lucky... kinda give me the impression it wasnt a common thing
Front crank seal , or the rocker covers. Power steering fluid is usually red, so see if you can check the colour of the oil leak.
Camber arms and tension rods fitted ride height lowered, does not look like much but boy you can feel the difference... loving driving this even more now just as well I have new tail lights coming... yes thats water
