Low Clearance (88mm) Aluminium Racing Jack

    I have been shopping around and finally found a decent (IMHO) price for a low rise aluminium racing jack under 90mm. Features are as follows
    • 88mm clearance
    • 1500kg lift capacity
    • Lightweight Alumnium Construction
    Retail is up around $800 but if we buy five or more I can get them for $500 each from Mitchell's engineering in Hornsby. There is no timeframe but we do need a minimum 5 buyers with cash payable upfront. Post would be extra but I imagine this can be done for around $20 (registered and insured anywhere in AUS) via busfreight as they are very light.

    Just out of interest, are they deep enough to jack the car from the front onto the chassis?

    500 is very expensive :( how much cheaper if there was a GB of 10 or more?
    i have never had a trolley jack fit under my zed unless the front wheels on the jack were pulled off so these are a good idea.
    i personally wouldn't pay anymore than 300-350 for a alum jack.
    but im still interested :)

    Not wanting to be negitive, but have you tryed it on a Z as i have a couple and and i find even though it will lift the car it tends to creak alot and move around even though they are designed for motor sport ( we use them at the speedway with a 420 kg car ) .

    I perfer to use my steel jack for the Z .
    Our 2 are from a USA tool supplyer .

    You have my interest. I'm sick of having to use my scissor jack to get my normal jack under the car.

    ive always wanted one of these. but im thinking id still have to use te scissor jack first for the reason the jack not giving you enough leaverage to get the car up ....ie the hand to jak up hittin the ground and the bar and not having enough movement to be able to lift it...have they been try'd on a zed ?

    mmmm electric .... good idea !

    I grabbed a couple of old sissor jacks from the wrecker, & fitted an old 1/2 drive socket to them......

    put jacks under car......

    grab the rattle gun......


    hey presto
    :D

    costs =
    $20 for the 2 jacks
    1/2 an hour of my time
    2 old 1/2" sockets that were throw away anyhow

    why dont you guys just drive the z up on two pieces of 2x4 wood?

    i do this and then i can jack the car up easily with my trolly jack.

    Wow didn't think there would be so many responses already... have put all the replies in the one post.

    Not totally clear on what you mean... are you asking if the jack will reach from the front of the car to the cross member?

    $500 is very cheap considering rrp $800. Go down to your local auto-one etc a steel low clearance jack will set you back around $600. I have a $120 k-mart jack at home that does the job but won't fit under the Zed, I'm sick of having to scissor it up and then get the jack underneath and I reckon I would get $500 use out of a jack that fits under the car.

    Ross thanks for feedback no I haven't got my hands on one of these so haven't used it with a Zed. I can get steel low-rise (same clearance) for $500 but figured bling ally would probably be more popular for the same price...

    Nope haven't been tested but would come down to individual ride heights and bar overhang anyway. These are the lowest of the low jacks that I have found it would be up to individual buyers to determine if they are suitable. I will get some more accurate dimensions and post up.

    Nope but can get some catalogue pics up in the next couple of days possible tomorrow.

    Anyway hope that covers it all

    Re ebay jack difference is it is workshop quality with more lift capacity and warranty.
