overdrive button in auto 300zx

    well i got my 300zx from mechanic and got to drive it 4 the 1st time...and..wat dose the overdrive button do? and is it best to drive with it on or off?

    overdrive = 4th gear, drive with it off, if you go over 80 or 90 turn it on

    I just leave O/D on. More fuel economical.

    O/D is your 4th gear. With it off you have a 3 speed gearbox.

    no.. leave it on..

    your auto box chooses the gear that is best suited to the speed and terrain...

    even when your doing 60km/h there is a difference when its on and off...

    so when your doing anything up to 90km/h like baz says your making the engine work more when it doesnt have to
