Z SHOP NEVER AGAIN !

I used to be a fan of the Z shop. So was my son. We always took our cars there. It was found that good parts were swaped on our cars and faulty parts were put in place. Our cars always had extra probelms they did'nt have after leaving the Z Shop. I took my car in for an electrical problem. After $500.00 in costs problem was still there. Was a loose plug in the crank angle sensor which i found the problem myself and fixed it. Took car back to him to complain. Asked me and my son to wait for him in his office. We waited for half hour. After a heated discussion, didn't get refund. Started my car. Car started pissing out smoke from both exhausts. He told me my turbo's are blown that i have to leave my car there. Quoted me 5 grand to replace turbos. Couldn't believe this shit. My car was running fine never had this problem. Anyway to cut a long story short i drove out of his work shop pissed off. Car pooring out smoke. Pulled over checked oil dip stick. Either Lyndsay or one of his dodgy mechanics over filled my enginine with oil. Dipstic had oil 1inch past it's recommended filling. So what happens too much over fill of oil. (SMOKE) Thats right. He tried to con me in thinking i had blown my turbo's. And would'nt let my car leave his workshop. After i threatened to call Police as he is illegaly holding my car (THEFT) he let me go. Don't be fooled by him! Lyndsay is a SWEET TALKING CON MAN! If you haven't worked him out yet, he as got you fooled like many others. Since i am in Law Enforcement my self on this occassion i have given him the bennifit of the doupt. Next time he will be visiting me in the Melbourne Magistrates court.

The benefit of the doubt,i hope not ,all you will be doing is leaving him to his own devices to the next poor sole.if you are in law enforcement you will have been taught preventive measures,so therefore stop it happening to someone else and sort it out,before some other poor sole cops it
A quick search on this forum should show you how many people have given him the benefit of the doubt already,which is the reason you copped it

 

Thanks running good now. Gave it an oil change. Sump had nealy half litre of extra oil in it.

Your right 300zx in what you are saying. I heard Lyndsay is away ill for some time. Someone else is running his business for him. I didn't know other people also had issues with him.

 

That's no good. At least the car's alright though.

When you said they replaced your and your son's parts with lesser ones, what parts are you talking about?

 

I was at the Z shop recently to get some minor things changed, Chester is in charge atm whilst lindsay is away. Bob was also there, apparently he is a forum member... Bob was a terrific guy, helped out great!! Not sure how many people have had bad experiences with the Z shop, although it seems like whenever im there it takes forever for the guys to diagnose what the problem is... which in turn costs $$$.

 

Parts tampered with. Swapped over:
ECU Replaced my good one with a faulty one. Learned that a car that was in his workshop the same time as mine had a faulty ECU. So i was given his faulty one he got my good one.
Alternator was swapped over in my car and son's car. Spring cut short in blowoff valve. Made car missfire as chamber wouldn'd close properly.
Changed over good coil with faulty one. Same as son"s car. We have all heard of horror stories of dodgy mechanics on Current Afair shows. It's real and it's happening. Unfortunatly it happened to me.

I don't doupt that some of his mechanics that work for him are honest people. BUT we have to find the honest one's from the dishonest ones.

 

if you cant find anyone honest come up to queensland lol amec (fleet, pete) are real honest and know what they are talking about.... free advertising ...sorry again to hear....thats real crap, cant believe the parts they swapped

 

I will never take my Z to that shop again after a lesson I learnt a few years ago. He is a crook, as far as im concerned. Looks like karma is catching up with him. Shame really, that business could have been so much more successfull than it really is if they didnt treat there customers like morons.

Man i hate dodgy mechanics, i got caught out a few years back when i had my old car. I'd take it there to get a simple service done and i'd get it back making noises that weren't there before. When i would go back obviously he would say there is a problem with something and it'd cost a couple hundred bucks to fix. Don't know why some mechanics do this it's not like they are making extra money out of it as it robs them of future business with the customer when they find out whats going on. Just for the record my experience wasn't with the Z shop, it was with a place called Bruce Buddens Automotive in Wollongong, so hopefully no one on here takes any of their cars to him.

Its sad to see some very unhappy people after reading heaps of posts in regards to the z shop... I have never been there and never will go there not because of what others have said its because its on the other side of the city from me... I would like to view both sides of the story but we all know we wont get to hear the other side... I am not workshop hater or tell others not to goto this place if people ask me who i goto i will let you know who that is...

Some places cannot be trusted with your car the reason why people find it very hard to leave there car for long periods of time to get things done in case something happens to it or something goes missing and what not... It has happened at a couple of places that i have read about and known they were always dodgy but not going to name them no point...

I got my apexi pod filter from Pete still not installed yet but will be soon :biggrin: :zlove:

Forgot to mention Airflow meter in my car.
PTU in my son's car.
Mechanics do this to keep you going back for repairs. Money and business for them. But BIG BAD one day catches up with them. To be dishonest and rip a customer off can distroy there reputation and business.
I did find Bob to be helpful. As i mentioned not everyone that works there is dishonest. But very interesting to find out on this site that i'm not the only customer of the Z Shop with complaints.
When you first get to meet Lyndsay you will notice that he is a sweet, well spoken person. Isn't that what most CON MEN are. You get sucked in and only realise whats happeing when you get BITTEN!
