Hi flow turbos Upgraded injectors Better cooling Upgraded ecu Tune Could even go with some forged pistons
This forum is for helping people, but when you blatantly ignore the obvious and sound advice people are giving, you're not going to get much help from then on. There is no magic power increase that $600 will get you...... period. Fit a boost controller and perform a boost leak test. I dont give a rats arse if you think its running better since youve fixed a few obvious vacuum leaks, it means SFA really. Ascertain of your 100k service and plenum pull have been done. If not, better start saving fast. Might wanna check your PTU is a series 2 as well, and all your connectors aren't held together with electrical tape and cable ties. Perform a ECU diagnostic check, or better still, get ecutalk or datascan hooked up to it. Check your base idle, TPS, CTS operation, Timing, AFM.... virtually that everything is within the parameters clearly and neatly printed in the service manual. Ignore the above, and can guarantee that your persuit of power will result in a "For Sale $500 with blown motor" thread
Go to your local wreckers & buy a holden v6 motor which you should be able to get for $600...its been done & is the best form of performance upgrade for your $600 Abraham
How longs a piece of string? In all serious stop aiming for a power figure! Go do all the basic little things, get the zed running as good as possible, and reliable THEN worry about mods.
I wasn't ignoring anyone though and I did say that proper service will be done, I just don't get why is it so bad to chase power and I'm sorry that I don't have much money I just love cars and try to make do with what I have is that so bad?
You should be making sure that the Z is running the best that it possibly can be before you go chasing more power.
yes i know, thats why i took the time to talk to people, organise a tech day, am gonna buy beer and food for participating members, travel 100km, spend the entire day with people more experienced and knowledgeable than me, learning and making sure that the engine is in perfect working order!
It's only done 68k and plus all that's wrong with it now is high idle so yeah, I drive it everyday, its fine and we are gonna run a few tests on that day
Just because it's only done 68k it doesn't mean there won't be things wrong with it. It's a 20+ year old sports car, things are old and need replacing. Call it preventative maintenance.
