Did you build with new injectors?
    Might be a faulty squirter.
stop chasing zebras and replace the injector.
Yours make 3 cars I have found with Cylinder #2 issues.

JECS 750CC injectors from Coz. So not new, just OEM 370CC refurbished and modified to flow 750.

Anyhow, if you've seen my other thread, the misfire seems to have just sorted itself out.

Still the Oil Leak & Lifter Tap issues to sort. Neither are simple jobs. :(

And to make things worse, I'm knee deep into the new job (and loving it), but I have my next two weekends already spoken for. No idea when I'm going to find time for it. Zed is just sitting there now as well as I have been forced to catch the train to and from work.

On a better note. Took her out tonight for a quick squirt, and she got quite tail happy... :D

    Update: It's not dead yet...

So after a ridiculously long time of inactivity due to the new job, which on the most part seems to keep getting better and better, today I handed off the keys to my Dad who took the Zed to a mate of his who owns a Garage and took care of the Oil leak.

Turns out it indeed was the Rear Main seal, but at least it's sorted now. While under there, noticed there was an issue with the Gearbox Y-shaped arm that holds the Gear stick... the issue being, somehow the bloody 4 bolts holding it in place completely worked themselves loose. Bolts replaced. Stick feels waaay more comfortable now. Much easier to snap it into the next gear when giving it a boot.

This week, or next week, my Dad will start on the collapsed lifter (Driver's side Intake bank). Once this is sorted, I'll be calling MRC to book a day for the Tune, and finally all of you can shut the f*ck up! :p

In other news, I have decided once the Zed is all fixed up and Tuned, to keep it for a few months, take her to the Drags, see what she can really do... then regrettable put her up for sale. Not a rushed sale. I am content to wait a while for the right buyer. A lot of money and effort went into this car, I'd like to see it go to someone who can properly appreciate that.

...I'm looking at buying a 370Z within the next week or two. I LOVE my 300ZX, but the sad reality is really starting to dawn on me how old, under engineered (relative to modern cars), maintenance and time hungry these beautiful beasts are, and with my career on a good start, I just don't have any where near the time to spend on my passion/hobby with my Zed. :(

    Won't be for a while.

Thats why it won't be for a while... :p

Start saving... could turn out to be a relatively cheap way to get into a ~350RWKW Zed. ;)

Not really in the mood to deal with tools right now. You can show yourself out of my thread. Thanks.

    Thats the plan.

Must be something about building a motor that makes Sydney Z32 owners uninterested...

I've come across this in the rebuilt block I'm reassembling atm too. I'm yet to take the oil tree off the old motor but did you have any revelations regarding why there was a difference?

Life is actually going quite well, hence picking up a late model '09 370 with 14200 on the clock next week, with strong plans to bolt on the Stillen Supercharger kit a year or two later.

I don't appreciate the negativity though as I am quite torn about the state of things with the 300, as I do have a pretty strong personal attachment to it. I'd love to keep it, but reality comes into the picture and I simply can't justify it. It is not a decision I came to lightly, and I'd appreciate people not to mock it either.

I'll keep it for probably 6 months after she's all gravy. Enjoy it, take it on a few cruises, meet up with a lot of the Aus300ZX guys again. Then eventually, list her for sale. It'll still probably be months more before she goes. I don't see how that is me giving up.

I just don't understand the thought process...

Spend a fortune in money and time building the zed. Drive for 6months and sell, losing money. Only to buy another newer car, to no doubt rinse and repeat?

I'd rather keep mine in the garage for ever than sell at a massive loss, but that's just me :)

    Tool, out.

Later Princess :p You would suit a 370 tho hahaha
