I wasted a whole afternoon trying to source some 15w-50 Mobil 1. Supercheap and Autobarn don't stock it. Found a good deal online. 5 x quarts Mobil 1 15w-50 $55 1 x Mobil 1 M1-208 filter $18 Postage $15 $88 all up delivered and a 5 liter bottle of the 5w-50 is about $90 in Supercheap. http://www.gllubricants.com/
Nice find and Thankyou! I use Mobil 1 in the Subaru. Was stupid expensive last time i bought some for the service. Will be saving this link. Cheers.
I too did a search around for Mobile 1 15W-50 it can be got in 20L drums from Mobil state distributors, cannot remember the name, but NSW distributor could do a better price then QLD with freight. (From memory around $200 delivered.) As far as GL lubricants goes, I do not know if their oil is authentic or not, but the thought was enough for me to look elsewhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvfPzD-Vaos I ended up using Shell 15W-50 semi which I am very happy with. At half the price of Mobil 1/full synthetic, I do not mind changing it every 3-5000k's. http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/on...il-15W-50-5-Litre.aspx?pid=215342#Description
100% genuine Not refilled bottles, I waited till I got my order before I put this recomendation here. This guy buys in bulk from the USA and adds a small margin. He also stocks Redine.
I look at it this way... ...I could have ordered a 5 liter bottle of the 15w-50 at the local Mobil $96 @ $88 I'm basically getting a top quality filter that usually sells for about $25 for free, and delivery of course. Here's a pic or two, definitely the real stuff and is in tamper proof bottles.
Filter wise, the benefits to using these over other brands? Finer filtration or just personal preference? I only use genuine subaru ones on the sti engine as its got next to no kms on it and has always only had mobil 1 in it and genuine filters. But also only use ryco filters on the zed. As its got lots of kms on it... not including the mystery number of kms from when it was imported. Just curious to know what swayed you to get them. Other then the fact the pricing is very good.
I doubt the oil is counterfeit as GL Lubricants Pty Ltd has an ABN. However you could not tell the difference between a good counterfeit and the real thing by the container. The quality and amount of counterfeit stuff sold on eBay these days makes me wary of all grey imports.
I've been using the Nissan OEM... ...oil filters mostly. Ran out of them and didn't want to use a Ryco now they're made in China. The Mobil 1 filter they claim has more capacity, as in can hold more crap. Made by Champion Labs which makes the K&N oil filter as well. I looked at it as a bonus mostly.
Re-filling Used bottles seems to be the main shenanigans they pull with decent oil. I think you'll find Australian Customs are right on the money with big brand names like Mobil 1 that are shipped from Asia. Wouldn't be USA stock if it was fake, they'd copy the local product! Yes, GL Lubricants has an ABN and surely buys this stuff by the pallet, only reason it's viable is because we have a free trade agreement with US made products. I'm certain it's legit!
If you were going to make a counterfeit product then the USA market would be would be a bigger target than the Australian market.
Maybe But counterfeit stuff is nearly always NOT made in the USA. They'll make it in Asia where they have few laws on counterfeiting. Make it in the USA and you go to jail, make it in China they give you a pat on the back. Disagree in this context, fake Mobil 1 would be made to look like the local product and doubt very much they would import it into the USA. Bah, this stuff is GENUINE!
GL Lubricants has joined this forum First of all, thank you Egg for spreading the word for GL Lubricants, much appreciated. To clear the doubts, we import directly from the US, and GL Lubricants Pty Ltd is a proper Australia registered company, no funny business here. We are also selling on ebay, just search by Mobil 1 oils or Redline oils, we are by far the biggest online seller of these 2 brands. Our sales track record can be easily found on ebay. Please feel free to contact us. (And FYI, as a new member, I do not have the level to post on For Sale by Businesses section yet). Kind Regards
Hopefully the mods can sort that out... ...and you can offer us some terrific deals on quality lubricants. Welcome Nick. :zlove:
