UPDATE 11/02/2012 Putting new Turbos on this weekend, all ways a ****er off a job this. Especially when there not made for a Zed, got to mod shit, My kind of deal. Half way out is fine to get old ones off and new ones on. Old Turbo's (TDO4-H) Left, Compared with the new Turbo's (GT2871R) Right Still clean and no oil leaks, Plus new Engine mounts. Got Gauges?????? I'll post anther update when it's back in and running with more pic and what I had to do for it to all Fit right Catch up
interesting to see how these turbos go . they are/will perform the same as the z1 gt725r . but more curious on the longevity of them.
Me too, They have been a Cun't to fit, everthing is fouling on each other but I have Managed to get them to fit. Had to grind bits here and redrill bits there. clocking adapters, one made by Zsteve, Thanks Space things out to angel them right. the outlet side off the turbo is not in the right position and further forward than on other turbos, so cut out a section to make it fit. one side done and finish of other side tomorrw.
I'd be putting some T-Bolt clamps on those hoses instead of the worm driven ones personally, the heat soak from being close to the turbos means they will come lose again and again!
UPDATE 25/02/2012 Had Toshi Tune my car with nistune on Friday on 17.5 psi or 1.25 bar and WOW, If you guys ever want your cars tuned I recommend Toshi very Highly, Has power all the way to 7000rpm, Around 450rwhp. Havent had it on the dyno as rear main is leaking due to being not installed properly by me, So out come gearbox to fix, then some slick and should get low 11s easy now allday, worm clamps are fine if good quilty ones.
Had to drill out the bolt holes for the R34 Calipers cause they are 14mm bolts as opposed to 12mm stock ones.
In a 4 to 6 months I will be getting the car fully Painted in side and out and engine bay, While thats happening I wil be Getting the Motor fully rebuilt with all the good stuff (Forged, cams, Flowed, Balanced) and a Real set of Garrett GT2871R Turbo's. till then it not going anywhere. That is a really good list , expensive list too lol . Be interesting to see if you get 600 . Those turbos are capable of it Definately but with a light port Job and manual cams I'm interested to see how this combination would work
Yeah, about $22000 give or take a $1000 And on the cams, just want to see how fr they can go, Heads will be ready for some R4's if need be.
This is also going on my To do list this year Big Fat wide kit, the Only one I like and some Front GT 20mm Extra Gaurds Will be selling my current wheels and getting some 18x10 and 18x12s
Well they pulled hard with Toshi's Tune but the Engine was already Bad in the Rings department. Will be selling these for maybe some Real 800r's
Well Now that I have a Job with Patrick Auto's, car carring and erning Fat Coin, I can get into this sooner rather than later. i can't wait to start getting shit.
