So i put 19's on and have 245 35's on front and 255 35's on rear. The Cop gave me a fine for that and i also forgot to put the battery tie down shit on so another fine for that :/ even though i had it there and put it on infront of him Before i go put different tyres on the car what can i run which are legal ? i got told 245 35's on 19's are fine ? i have another set of 245 35's sitting around. But the cop wrote down that i can have 225/35/19's on them :/ ? wrong ? as i remember he did actually write down that the front tyres where fine :S ? they are 245 35's on 19 :/
Firstly, it doesn't matter where the cop was from. Get on this site and punch in your tyre sizes compared to stock. If the rolling diameter is under 15mm larger than stock, you're legal. It would appear your 245/35's are 23mm and 255/35's 29mm larger than stock. They're not legal. It doesn't matter where the cop was from. YOU'RE the one at fault here.
Lol iknow doesnt matter where from >.< The aussie cops who pull me up are all cool about that kinda shit so far
Well i take back the racial comments, im just in a bad mood i have mates who are indians asians etc. He was just imho an asshole as he gave me fines on things of which he could just have warned me or somthing blah blah... like the battery tie down etc i put it back on infront of him but he didnt care i only took it off cause i just put a new battery and was in a hurry for work :/
You'll just have to bend over and take it mate. Swallow your pride and cop it sweet. And I'm pretty sure he gets the 'I was in a hurry for work' excuse 15 times a day. 100% for originality bud
Lol Suppose, Probly thought i was lieing ofcorse doesnt somone sell like tyre placard or w.e's ? for later models. im guessing i would still get fined though since the car is older model. What Tyres should i RUN ? least my wheels most likely gonna be spinning again 255's gripped a fckload
Don't laugh, but I was running 265 35 18's with falken rubber I now run stock rims - 225 45 16, with GOOD tyres, and I get better grip even though i've LOST 40mm tyre width on the road... Looks average, but performs 200% better than what I had before. Grip is mostly to do with your tyre choice, even 305's on 1 inch rims won't grip if you use shit rubber.
That being said, if you use a wide quality tyre such as 265/35/18s in an Goodyear Eagle F1 or Bridgestone Adrenalin you will have ALL the grip :-D
Looking over the infringement notice its only for the 255's 35 19's :/ I looked up on the site and saw that 245 35 19's are illegal also ? as anti said but the cop told me otherwise :S now im just confused
You can only go up to 15mm larger (diametre). I had to be careful of this when I changed my wheels to 19's. I have 235 35 19 F and 265 30 19 rears. I found that from manufacturer to manufacturer their diametre's actually varied slightly for the same 'spec' rubber. I ended up with some top of the line Yokohama's that are 2mm F and 0mm R (spot on) for legality. Came at a pretty penny! But at least it keeps them legal! I'd suggest going to a few websites of the rubber that you want, and check their official specs listed...
Tyre Placard has -225/50 16's -245/45 16's -235/45 17's -255/40 17's i put in the 235 45 on 17's on that site and 245 35's on 19's are "legal" as the cop said also so i have another set of them im putting on! Who wAnts a 2nd hand pair of 255 35's for 19's ?! $100! ONO
