    i get 2.0 - 300.

    2.2 - 400.

    2.3 - 1k

smashed it though. rode the clutch and all..:bash:

i have 265 nankangs, negative 4 camber on the rears, coilovers, adjustable camber arms etc and it still will wheel spin if i clutch dump through most gears.

you need good rubber. no matter how much you warm them up.. they will always be shit.

question is: why did you NEED to lower running temp? Plenty of us get fine each day just with a well maintained cooling system. And as erik said you'll overheat after a period of driving. Best of luck to you

    Take it to the drags

Then you will get a print out of what it can do, no guesswork involved.;)
Put a new thermostat in first though.:)

If you have a good look at your old thermostat you will see that it has a "bung" like thing on the end. You cant remove these thermostats because when they open the bung blocks off another hole further back in the block. When this is hole is open (ie without a thermostat) the water pump cannot suck water from the right place.

This type of thermostat allows water to be pumped around the block while the thermostat is closed to maintain uniform temperature on warm up.

It will probably be ok driving around lightly occasionally but you will cook your Z without a thermostat if you keep driving it.

Just though I would let you know as I nearly did this once too.

    Cheers
    Jason

    Bump...

I know this is an oldish thread, but can we redirect this thread back to the authors origonal Q'n ; that is 0-100 times for N/A Z'ds!!!??? I curious and im sure others are too!

Sorry not being a smart arse.j its just a little disappointing to read through this thread after looking for an answer to this exact Q'n and no-one has really answered it properly! Some TT times (???), and the rest is periphery whining.

I for one am keen to know what a 'fast' n/a time is and a slow one is. Dont get me wrong im not in a dream world here about N/A's, its just quite difficult to find these times elsewhere, and seeing the lad asked the question how about those in the know answer it instead of mumbling on about nonsense. Im finding times on the net from 7 secs to 13 secs (stock).

Oh and lets call it from a standing start, not this rolling @ 10km'hr rubbish!!!

So come on boys n grlz ; what times are ur N/A's doin the 0-100 in and what are your mods???

factory claims are 7.2 for 0-100 and 15.2 for the quarter if you have a 5 speed.

auto NAs the stock figure is a sluggish 8.6 for 0-100 and 16.5 for the quarter.

just quote that. it's actually quite hard to actually match the factory figures especially in stock form. most people only just match or pip the stock figures with a few breathing mods @ 130 or so rwkw.

Yeah thats right, my zed hits low 7 seconds 0-100 with 131rwkw. I'm hoping to get that a little bit lower when i get my new shocks put in along with my front pipes and tuned SAFC.

I'm still puzzled how you can have a "rolling start" for a 0 - 100 time??????

    Surely that defeats the purpose
