went down and timed the Zd today, N/A '94 2+2 wit no mods besides pod and CAI and tuned ecu. 101 octane fuel.

Clocked 5.8sec with hard load on clutch between shifts, - rolling lauch at 10kmh jumped on at 5,500rpm (stupid to do....on a std clutch i know) spun on shifts up to 3rd gear. rears are 255 wide nankang's, so had sweet grip

Clocked 6.3 without hard load on clutch betwen shifts. launch at 3,500rpm.

anybody got any times for there N/A? Took car in for dyno and was told these are good times for an N/A. Curiose to see others. engine is genuine with 96k on it. im keen to goto a dyno run and see other cars etc..

If you think Nankangs have good grip you're going to blow your mind when you get some decent tyres :p

How are you timing these runs?

haha yeah...your right chrispy.....but i was used to wanli tyres...(cheap sh*t tyres, and your prob laughing harder lol) so the nani's do the trick for now lol.
times recorded after a good rear spin to warm up the rubber
and recorded on track, so yeah, classed as true time i guess

what u mean by hard load on clutch?
Do u mean, handbrake up hard, revs up, riding the clutch hard?

Stock clutch? Wont last long... unless ur planning on upgrading i wouldnt recommend many of them?

takes a small amount of brains to know what hard load on clutch after shifts means, who's gona drive with there hand brake on and ride the clutch?? "you?", simply rev harder and enguage the clutch, use handbrake if you wanna enter a corner into a drift. not that difficult URHYNS

    wwwooooowwww easy TIGER!!!

Relax fool, not having a go at you!!!... i will now though...
I was talking about your launch.... obviously, and it takes more than a small amount of brains for this one, you dont need a "hard load" on your clutch when shifting ONE gear to get to 100kph... thats if you can shift fast enough, which you obviously cant... does not take much brains at all to figure that one out....

    ...idiot.

lol at sweet grip from nankangs, no wonder you're spinning. I used to chirp second in the NA when I first got her, thinking wow this is shhhhuuupper power. Then got new tyres and no wheel spin whatsoever.

I'm also curious about CAI...what, besides a pod filter replacing the stock airbox, have you done to class as cold air induction? Just curious

Hey ZedEx, My CAI,...is a home made system, i mounted the pod as usual, and housed it in a sealed 6" poly "cylender", with air holes, and run into it a 3" pipe that runs down to the bottom air scoop of my standard front bar. With a nice home made air scoop infront of the radiator, cant be seen, painted matt black. Dropped temp needle from half guage at normal run temp to just under.air pod made a slight diff in power in high end

Are you suggesting that feeding cold(er) air into your pod lowered the operating temperature of your engine?

If I were you I wouldn't be basing any percieved benefits on the results shown on the stock temp guage.

Create excess engine wear due to increased warm up time then overheating once up to temp.

Are there any other signs or tests you can do with a full coolant system to see whether your thermostat has been removed? I'm starting to think mine might be jammed open or removed all together...

i'm not sure what's crazier...the concept on nankangs having sweet grip, or the apparent extra power from removing the thermostat [TIS]

It takes about half an hour or more for the car to warm up with a jammed open t/stat or none at all. Then it will slowly go up in temp on the highway.
