.................a number of members have asked about the advantages of Dumps,... 3'' dumps in particular. It is well known that 2.5'' or 3'' Dumps do improve performance. Here is a Dyno sheet showing exactly how much.:)

If you wish to speak with the owner of the Zed tested, please advise and I will arrange it;)

The Specs on this Zed that were constant in both Dyno Tests are:-

    Stock heads, intercoolers, dual-pop, 2.5'' cat-back
Block is AMS prepped with Wiseco Pistons & ARP Fasteners
    Z1 725 Turbos
    AMS Max Flow Manifolds
    Base timing of 15 degrees
    94 Octane fuel.

The first Dyno sheet shows BEFORE fitting AMS 3'' Dumps and TP's

The second Dyno sheet shows AFTER fitting AMS 3'' Dumps and TP'S at the same boost

A whopping gain of 71 HP and 66 Torque was achieved.

These Dyno Sheets were kindly donated by AMS Zstore

Was the before figure tested suing the stock US exhaust with pre-cats? If it was it would skew the results for any Aus comparison since we didn't get precats.

Probably won't make much difference as we didn't get the twin turbo either

I assume the before pic was with stock dumps?

US TT dumps had cats in them for cold start emmissions, Jap TT's didn't as they do SFA.

    Correct.............

    Actually..............

......that is not relevant for this excercise, this is merely to show the improvement gains of before and after fitting the Dumps and TP's , not comparing the amount of increase in gains between US or Oz Zeds;)

Was this done straight out the tp's or did it run with the 2.5" cat back ?

If so how did they convert from 3" to 2.5" ?

Standard TT have 4 bolts regardless of origin.
Its when u go aftermarket turb's u have to switch everything to 5 bolt

I disagree. If the test shows the gains in going from a stock US dump which has a pre-cat in it to an aftermarket dump what relevence does it have to our cars which don't have pre-cats fitted?

    I believe that........

......your question has already been adequately answered.:zlove:

So let me get this straight, they've before and after tested a car with gt2871rs turbos and aftermarket manis and 3" dumps made more power than stock dumps? That is hardly a revelation and has no relevance to 99% of users on this forum...

    Not stock turbo's

Not a real surprise on bb turbo's , do you have any charts for stock turbo's?

Haha sarcastic shot asside, if Wykked and Badxtc have also missed the point then at least I am in good company. And what is the point in that case? Maybe if you had written

I woouldn't have felt the need to post that. Users expecting similar gains from smaller turbos will be very much dissapointed.

Also considering my earlier post obviously not tested with stock dumps as they GT725 turbos are 5 bolt, so what dumps were fitted for the before run?

    Please.....

.......advise where I have said "it woud be the same", I believe I have not. This is purely information of two tests done that show huge gains. Also provided were all the specs. ;) No further answers really need to be given. Folks can read this and be informed. Until someone does the same type of comparison on an Australia Zed, no-one can say, exacty what the difference will be between the US Zed and the Oz Zed. Of course the figure may or may not be the same, but that is not the point here really is it. Unless someone can say with actual experience and dyno sheets to prove it that the similar set up on an Oz Zed, would show little or no gains at all:confused: I think we would all accept that woud not be the case. Thanks for your input:zlove:
