I installed shift light. installed exhaust with wideband and hooked it all up in working order. put my car all back together. tuned nistune for 900cc(800cc at 56psi) injectors from 370cc. started the car and it was at 10.5 then to 14.7-15 once warmed up. was pretty happy so dropped the car down and to drive it........wouldnt start

oh well let the diagnosing begin. its fuel or spark. got fuel pressure so gotta confirm if spark.

Installed my new braoderperformance valve body and transbrake.... Omg transbrake's are nuts. It is crazy how fast they act. Instant launch at the release of a button. Like a shotgun to the back of the head [TIS]

Thanks mate. Appreciate the comments, been a long time in the making. I started with 1500 and got it smooth with very minimal pitting. Then finished with 2000. Then the medium-fine cutting compound. Then the mcguires fine polish.

Once complete and all bolted back together I plan to use the fine polish once more then mcguires scratch x. Then mcguires wax and shine I think its called. Takes it out of you doing it all by hand though. Feeling knackered lol.

Anyways a few more pics from this weekend. Rear quarters and doors.

    Thanks mate.

Haha, you'll have to get in line. When the zeds done I have my mates red turbo tx3 to paint. I also have been asked by another Eric to paint some panels for him (yet to be followed up on though).

Might have to give up on the Monday to Friday gig working for John Deere. Much prefer working in my shed lol.

I went to UAS to put my car on the dyno to see what if anything my new SpecialtyZ dumps (shown earlier in this thread) have done to the horsepower. I was happy with the result.
I got 258.6 rwkw which is slightly higher than the 252.1 rwkw that I got in the UAS dyno day comp in July.

I was originally just going for a dyno graph but then Dave found it was running rich and suggested he could tune it so the graph below is after both the dumps fitted and the tune so we really don't know if the increase in hp is due to the dumps or the tune or both. Actually Dave did 2 runs before he tuned it. The first run hit 261 kw and the second hit 258 kw so the peak hp increase probably is due to the dumps. (It does seem to run smoother after the tune though).

After doing the tune Dave said it kept alternating between rich and lean and blamed it on my Selin dual intake kit which he doesnt think is a good idea (not that I'll get rid of it).

Anyway my latest hp graph is below. Engine, injectors and turbos are stock. Only mods are Z1 BA SMICs, turbosmart manual boost controller, Specialty-Z 2" to 3" expansion dump pipes, Z1 high flow 3" cat pipes, Z1 3" H pipe, straight through 3" mufflers, RPS twin plate carbon-carbon clutch, Selin dual Pod intake kit and Nistune. (The fuel is VPower - which I allways add Nulon total fuel system cleaner to to increase the octane a bit). I didn't get a psi print out but on the monitor it was varying between 16 and 15 psi and briefly spiking at 17 psi.

For comparison below is my UAS dyno day competition result. This is still with a 3" exhaust system (albeit a mostly different one but same mufflers) and before adding the Speciality-Z dumps. It also had a UAS tune on the Nistune but tune has been changed since this as mentioned above. I haven't changed the boost control setting between the two runs.

For comparison I typed both graphs into excel by hand and show the result below:

Good work! Would like to know more about the concerns with the selin? 6 rwkw ain't allot but glad I could see some results.

    Thanks.

He really didn't say anything more to me than that it was alternating between rich and lean and he thought it was due to the dual intake and that he didn't think dual intake was a good idea. I didn't quiz him further because I'm not about to give up my Selin.

I could speculate that he is worried that one side might be taking in more air than the other and so the AFR might be too high for one side and too low for the other .. I don't really know though.

At the end of the day I am very happy with the result. I wasn't expecting any increase in peak hp just in low and mid range torque, so it was a pleasant surprise to get that 6kw. There was enough across the board increase to make me feel the expense was worth it.

That's a fairly large gain in the midrange so it seems they are well worth it. From the dyno sheet, your mixtures seem a tad rich down low but at the top of the rev range they look fairly good (11.3-11.5).

Indeed. That is what my internet research indicated would be the case and this result bears that out.
