yep. And how many people havent even bothered getting a comp test would be my question ;)

I was all doom and gloom over them as some may recall, until many including a good mate of mine pointed out theirs were MUCH worse.

My mates couldnt get a result on 1 cyl, and he's happily running 14psi all day long. Ive borrowd his car and its a monstor. One of my fave all time Zeds.

sell it and buy a 97... didnt you import the car from over east to start with ?? good luck finding a stock zed that is in better condition than yours they simply dont exist. unless you can find a ausspec 1 owner but that means they purchased the car for over 60k and its a NA

I reckon you could fix all you "niggly" issues for under $3k, probably less considering the amount of cars being parted out these days. You'd have a pretty decent Z then. I have seen this Z before, back when mudcrab owned it and it did look quite nice.

    TEMPORARY INSANITY OVER

    Dont worry......

I needed to do this little excerise.... make the idea of parting with it that little bit more realistic to see how i really feel about the car.

When i stepped out of the office today into the car park and walked towards it, there she stood, with no other cars blocking her side profile

A voice inside whispered "you know you dont want to get rid of that"

As I got inside I looked around and the feeling was "see, its not as bad as you make out at all"

    The ride home...
An S15 zooms up behind me and looks to be wanting to make me "proove something"
No need... I know I could leave you standing.

A black V8 ute sides up on a 2 lane stretch
nothing to proove here either. He might beat me. He might not. Confident my car would do me proud.

Yep... with some patience, time, money, and effort.... she'll be friggin awsome.

Besides.... i do recall one of my new years goals for 2008 was:
"Stop bitching about the LITTLE things you dont like about the car, and just FIX them"

    Thanks again guys ;)

for the non cosmetic stuff ... get tom(PZP) to do a real

inspection/quote/fix ... apart from the possible compression issue, i reckon that these items would not cost a heap .... ???

.. a cosmetic upgrade could be done over time ....

.. given the time, effort, heartburn and cost you went through to get this zed, you would be crazy to ditch it now .. you have paid $17,000 for it with little prospect of getting anything like that back on swap or sale ....

.. finish off the job you started .. making a top zed ..!!! .. use tom, your local zed guru ... he is a great resource ... i reckon that he would have your glitches unglitched in no time ... do yourself a favour ... fix your zed.....!!!

.. over and out ....:bash: :bash:

    red32 You talkin' to me?

    :D
No, I'm NOT saying your car is a POS... I've never seen it apart from some posted images so it would be inappropriate of me to say so.

I think it looks fantastic. BUT (don't you hate that word) you yourself have listed a number of points where some TLC is needed. The biggest points of contention are the compression and the aircon... potentially big bucks to be spent. Leaking weather seals, bits held on with tape, badly fitted parts (eg mirror), you don't give the car a huge rap!

I do admire your honesty, but because of that self same quality, you have to expect some candid replies.

I still reckon your best option is to turn it into the car you really want, rather than swapping (possibly for a POS that someone else is not honest enough to describe as comprehensively as you have done for your car).
