[VIC] Saturday 1st December: Tech/Detailing Day

Ryan's internet isn't working atm so I'm posting this on his behalf. Thought we should get this thread up now seeing as there is quite a few events going on in Vic atm so didn't want to clash with another event.

DATE: Saturday December 1st
TIME: Around 10am start to maybe 4 or 5 pm, depending on how people are going
LOCATION: Ryan's house, address will be pm'd out, it's in Glenroy. Since Ryan's net isn't working you'll have to pm me to get the address.

And most importantly...
FOOD: There's a few pizza places around so if everybody chipped in maybe $5 we could get some pizza's and drinks. We can also get kebabs or something, we'll work it out closer to the day.

I've got Datscan/conZult etc so we can check out people's car's on my laptop and I've also got a Boost Leak tester for anyone that wants there car checked. We were also hoping to use it as a pre-DECA tech day so we could check out people's cars and make sure they'd be sweet for DECA. Also anyone who's got parts they want to fit can bring them along and get assistance from others... also would be good if people brought some Jack's, stands and socket/screw driver sets too, just so we're not all sharing one set.

For the people that want to detail their car's, with the water restrictions you'll either have to wash your car beforehand or there's a few carwash places around Ryan's house. I've got some detailing products (clay bar, polishes, waxes etc) that I can bring along but it won't be enough for everyone to use so if you've got any products that you wish to use I guess bring it along too. Don't forget the chamois or microfibre cloths!

That's about it I guess, any more suggestions are welcome, never been to a tech day before so not sure what they're like... maybe post up in here if you're coming and also what you might want assistance in doing on the day to see if someone else can help you.

Yep, definitely interested in going! Prolly end up washing my car BEFORE i get there But the detailing would be very handy~

Yeah, I'd be happy to help you out Trav, dont think my car will have tooo much extra work needed.

Jacks and Stands

Im not sure how good an idea this would be. Ryans driveway is not flat and is unsafe to jack up cars on. The road is relatively flat but a good 50 meters or so away from his Unit. Should be fine for everything else.

No worries pete, I thought you might be working at the V8's but there's too many events in vic atm so it didn't really leave too many dates free to have the tech day.

Thanks Adam! I still haven't gotten round to doing it, got exams to study for so trying to stay out of the garage.

Oh ok. I didn't know his driveway was sloped, he said it could hold 16 cars though so for people who are detailing then it should be alright for them.

question.. has anyone thats attending ever taken off the stock rear wing?

 

Its pretty easy Trav, use a heat gun or hairdryer to soften up the glue then just pull it off! there are a few plastic lugs that you need to be a little careful with. I snapped my wing, but was full of rust so I didnt care, made it heaps easier! lol

If Im not doing anything I may come round to catch up with a few of you blokes.

 

I havent done the rear spoiler removal but i would like to help out. I will eventually remove mine for a 2000spec rear spoiler so it would be good to see what i have to do.

Zealous would be good too see u again. if u can make it of course
