OK guys after all the interest from the NZR thread I've finally got the details together for a group buy on the UAS vented bonnets pictured here.

For my money this is the toughest looking hood on the market, and is very functional with plenty of venting to drop your under bonnet temperatures. The hood is available in lightweight fibreglass only and comes gel-coated ready for primer. The construction on these is first rate and they are a bolt on fit provided your car is straight! People who bought in on the front bars know what kind of high quality to expect.

Here's the rblurb from UAS website

COMES WITH A FINE MESH AND HELPS UNDER BONNET VENTILATION AND AFTER YEARS OF USE IT WILL STILL RETAIN IS EXCELLENT FINISH THROUGH THE THICK, HEAT RESISTANT RESINS THAT ARE USED.

Just to clarify mesh is included and comes pre-installed.

Details for the group buy are as follows:

Price: Price per unit is $550 for five or more hoods, or $520 if we get ten or more participants. So budget $550 and if we get ten it's a bonus.

    Freight:
    Sydney:$50
Eastern States:$110 to your door, well packaged and insured. Group shipping is an option, although these can only be sent in pairs. Group shipping to Eastern states would be roughly $150/pair so hopefully that makes it a little more manageable.
WA:You guys have a few different options, WA people PM me for explanation, but budget around $100 for shipping.

    Timeframe, Ordering etc
I intend to leave the group buy open for a month, so cutoff date for orders is june 20th. The procedure for ordering will be a $100 deposit upfront (paid to me, PM for details), with the balance owing when the hoods are available. Anyone requiring a hood before the cutoff date feel free to PM me and we can work something out as we did with the front bars.

I think that covers anything, but feel free to post/pm/email any questions!

Just to clarify - do these hoods have the normal under-bonnet latch/catch or do we need to install hood-pins as in the pic?

I have th c/f one and it came with the latch but at slightly higher speeds than normal it does tend to flap. I recommend putting on bonnet pins. :zlove:

    Hood Pins are optional

Hi mate, the hood pins pictured are optional. It will fit up as normal with the hood latch, but the car in the pic is highly modified so hood pins are probably a safety for track work. I believe a secondary restraint is required by CAMS.

How do you fit the hood pins?

Sorry to sound like a noob but Ive never used them before. I'm guessing you use them to tie it down to the front of the car?

Hmm hard to explain hood pins without gesticulating..... I'll give it a go! Basically a pin that passes through your hood (so points perpendicular to your hood), and then a split pin is fed through the hood pin (so your split pin sits parallel to the hood), thus holding your hood down. Make sense? Probably not, hopefully someone more articulate will help out!

I'll get a price to have the pins included if you like?

Also PM me for bank details when you're ready to confirm.

    Thanks mate!

A bit of metal comes up from under the bonnet, through the bonnet and sticks out the top. When it sticking out you put a split pin through it and hence it holds the bonnet down or something like that, i think you actually did better than me rob but there were lots of big words in there

Has anyone had any problem with water getting through the vents onto the electrics plugs, or has the bonnet got drain off channels. I wouldn't want water running onto the motor.
