... Had to break up post as posting via mobile. Anyway look at those graphs they will give you an idea of when and how much power comes on depending on your level of mods. Those turbos will do 350rwkw all day every day on pump gas and up to around 430rwkw with race fuel and supporting mods. You will struggle to hit a comfortable 350rwkw with gt28r although it can be done. Dumps are similar to tektrader dumps but are still in production. For a really nice 3" they will be mass producing the dump pipes that

...will be mass producing the pipes that were custom built for shifter's car. I put some pics up in JT's 3" dumps thread in z-related -these will cost more than the 2.5" dumps on offer but are awesome pipes. Re: split payment mate the best advice i can give is to call john on 02 96209000. They have turbos your size in stock but no fittings so i'm sure he would be happy to accept part payment to get the call rolling on a kit for you. But as i said just call they will talk all day about options etc

    Hi Mark
The TTZ offering is a Garrett upgrade, done by Garrett and they replace all the T25 internal turbo parts with T28 parts. Why would it be any less than the group buy, and I can keep my pipes?

    This is a good point...

The TTZ upgrade kit is done by Garrett themselves and is upgraded and new BB cartrige, high flowed, etc.... here's a link: GT2535 roller bearing (44lb@min)

Tell us why these GB turbo's would be any better than this one on the link from TTZ which are actually upgraded by Garrett themselves...?

    Sounds great

don't it! But if you do a bit off research you'll find many people (in the know) advise against stuffing the stock turbo's housing with bigger wheels. Heat is the killer, and the price is steep. The G/B turbos are a far better choise imo.

    Thanks Beaver.

Just to clarify (sorry, but i haven't read much about these GB turbos) but are you actually buying a whole complete NEW turbo for that price? or upgraded stockies?

So at end of day, you pay you're $3,600 (or whatever it is) and you get a package in the mail with complete brand new turbos + all you need to bold on?

    - BUT, because they're all 5 bolt setups we'll need new dumps too?

    Yes Benny

the G/B turbos are spankers, complete with all the bits, and clocked, so they bolt straight on. And they are all five bolt exhaust side, so yes you need five bolt dumps, or get a shop to cut your old four bolt dumps, and turn em into five bolt.

Yeah guys spot on, stuffign bigger wheels into a .54 T22 housing will produce more air but it will choke a lot quicker and start producing lots of heat due to compression and not much more air to excuse it. You will need some seriously efficient intercoolers and or water injection to overcome the high intake temps. I have looked into this heavily and considering its around 3k plus for rebuilt stockers (through Garrett) to make around 320 at the wheels if you are lucky it doesnt seem to be very good bang for your bucks. The GB turbos will produce around 400 plus at the tyres with supporting mods so for a few hundred dollars more seems like the better option, but at the end of the day it comes down to money and how much people have when there turbos die.

    Good stuff

the fact that they are complete new turbos is a really good selling point. The only thing that i have to factor into cost is a new set of 5 bolt dumps....

yeah pretty much most are around the $700 mark for good ones. This is the only down side to it that adds to the cost of the conversion. Just a shame we own twin turbo cars as everything is double the price, however I wouldnt have it any other way a TT zed is sooooo nice

    GT2530's

hi jason, as soon as you get some figures on the ones that are similar to the gt2530's (from memory the 28rs' ?) i'm in, also would be interested in 5bolt labree style dumps and test pipes if you know of anywhere to source them cheap, but turbos are definitely a goer.
cheers, had a huge stuff around with the insurance company but getting my car back in a couple of weeks, and will be arguing with them in court probably, i dont think it is very fair at all when some tosser wipes out your car through no fault of your own and then the insurance company argues the point

just read back through the thread, and i will get the gt28rs in .64, only going mid power for this motor, future motor will have mofo toubos , probably another car to go in as well, as i want to keep the beast controllable on the road

as an alternative, street to strip is offering the JWT sport 700's (gt28rsx2) turbos for $3,120 delivered. dont know if that includes oil lines (add $140) but specialty z claims they are direct bolt on as they have already been clocked etc..
perhaps a GB through STS via specialty z may yield cheaper prices?

    Sport 700's

From what I remember the Sport 700's are a GT2860RS .84 ar compared to what most people are getting which is the .64 for bit better spool.

So depends what you are after. That said its a great price.
