    carzone in the corner crying!

Am i being a little bit stupid by saying is there any way that you can ask tein themselves? I mean they're enthusiests and so are we, so we share something in common and as mentioned we as customers want to know exactly what we are buying??....and to end on a fairytale note, cant we buy direct of tein and quit messing around with suppliers and dealers?

I wouldnt do that Rob I have done so in the past and been torn a new one for doing so. Besides I dont think JP knows himself exactly what the difference is.

And yes Fulcrum are the licensed distributor in AUS and as such have the copyright to the setup of AUS spec just as the US dealers have the rights to the US spec setups and so on. I am just wondering what the difference actually is. So if anyone from Fulcrums is on the forum speak up now or forever hold your peice.

I do know for sure that Fulcrums have done the ADR compliancing for the SS kits and have the flex underway currently so maybe thats the difference as stated above. Hopefully we can all find out in the new year and decide where best to put our dollars and hopefully that will be in the local market.

    ANSWERS

OK here's what we've been waiting for. These are the detail on the AUS-spec teins that are available exclusively from fulcrum.

    Spring Rates and Valves
Super Street: 5kg front and 4kg rear spring rates (affect stiffness), and the valves have been changed for a softer rebound rate

Flex: 8kg front and 7kg rear, substantially stiffer so primarily for track use. The valves have likewise been changed with these for a softer rebound rate.

    ADR Aprroval/Street Legal
Super Street: The AUS-Spec SS's are ADR approved and street legal.

Flex: These are NOT street legal as they have an adjustable crevice (spelling??) bar for greater height adjustment. This will allow you a lower ride height (not practical for street anyway...) but earn you a defect notice, which is why i'm going with SS. So buyer beware!

    Warranty Info
Both kits have a 2yr/40000km warranty that will defiantely be honoured within Australia and as discussed above I personally value this very highly.

    Stock Availability
At the moment the following stock is available and in Australia. This does NOT include stock that one forum member has already paid for.

    1x SS with pillowball tops
    1x SS with rubber mounts

Everyone else can expect delivery around february as discussed.

I think that covers it all?

Haha no, suppliers and dealers protect their interests very closely ;) On a more serious note we are better buying from someone with the buying power of a big workshop anyway

Cheers Rob for a valiant effort as always mate well done.

So the low down for all those still tossing up is the Jap and Aus spec kits are basically the same spring rate and rebound wise (would have very slight difference for Aus spec due to different spring rate) but differ significantly in two very important areas.

These are the Aus spec SS come with pillow ball tops whereas Jap spec is an optional extra which costs roughly $120 AUD a side

Probably the most important factor is the Fulcrum supplied SS kits are ADR approved where the Jap spec kits are not.

So is it worth a possible defect/rectification notice that is ultimately up to you. The local cop who busts you wont know but the guys at the defect checking station will surely have there list and be checking it twice.

Once again you have been warned

    Cutoff Date

Just making sure everyone is aware of the cutoff date which is january 9th or NEXT TUESDAY.

This means if you want to buy a set I will need to have the money in my account but the 9th so pleeeease don't hesitate in PM'ing me if you're interested in a set. At this stage we have more than enough for the GB to proceed but they will only get more expensive after this buy so the more the merrier.
