    Hmm no response from Zoom aka express publications yet. I tried the phone number for the editor listed on their website and it was disconnected. Call express publications general contact number and they said they'd get someone to call... I'm working on it though!

    We can run front wheel drive cars, although they take a lot longer to set up, especially as we will be set up for rear wheel drive cars on the day. We can do it for $80. A few months back we ran a Pulsar dyno day here and the Saturday after this one we are running a Datsun dyno day. We are throwing everything at this Zed one though, with Rob260 orchestrating things it should be huge.

    For those concerned about their cars health on the dyno I will explain what is involved. We check the car out including oil level, and tyre pressures, so a good idea to check and adjust tyre pressures ( rear at least 34 psi hot is good) and top up your oil prior, so you don't slow up the day and have to buy oil which we only have expensive full synthetic oil in our bulk tank. We strap it down and put wheel chocks in front of the front wheels. We then run it up and do two or three full throttle runs in fourth gear. You will get two colour print outs showing power curve in rwkw, which also shows a peak power figure and one shows air fuel ratio graph and the other a boost graph.

    Performance Imports (formerly HPI) have confirmed they will be running an article on the day. They'll be sending photographer Eric Tang (who shot my car for Zoom a couple of years back) to capture all the action.

    Sponsorship and Press Coverage and Prizes

    Time for a little bit of an update and a summary.

    Sponsorship

    The following sponsors have confirmed they will be contributing prizes:

    Penrite (major sponsor)
    Turbosmart
    GReddy

    GFB had indicated that they would get on board and then I never heard from them again :confused:

    Unique Auto Sports will be supplying custom made trophies.

    Press Coverage

    Performance Imports magazine (of which many of our finest Z32's have graced the pages) will be running a feature story and sending in house photographer Eric Tang to capture all the action.

    Prize Categories

    It's important to me that all participants turn up with the chance to go away smiling. The last thing I want is for this to turn into a cock measuring contest where it's about $$ spent rather than getting together for a meet and great.

    With that in mind there will be a "bracket racing" category, similar to how drag meets run. Contestants will be asked to predict their cars KW when submitting registration forms and the closest on the day wins.

    There will also be a "hard luck" prize (with trophy) for the most "underwhelming" performance.

    And of course trophies for

    Highest HP NA Z32
    Highest HP Twin Turbo standard turbos Z32
    Highest HP Twin Turbo modified turbos Z32

    10% penalties apply to cars running E85 or other race fuel. Winners from EVERY category will be reported in Performance Imports unless you specify otherwise (which is totally OK, you just need to let me know).

    Please note prizes are for Z32 only. Other cars are welcome and will still be eligible for $50 runs and coverage/photos in PI. Prizes are for Z32 owners only though -there are plenty of "open" dyno days around but only one AUS300 day and I want to keep it "special" for members.

    Looking forward to seeing everybody there :)

    So what your saying is , you'll be taking home a trophy and getting some snazzy pics with the rest of us peons ;p XD

    Of course it'll be a good day! :)

    Most of us know each other pretty well and is there a BBQ taking place!

    Well a trophy would be nice but eggs and chickens... I will be MOST pleased if we get a good turnout and everyone has a good time. I'll look like a right cock if Turbosmart/PI/etc turn up and there's only half a dozen cars.

    Pretty sure JP will throw the BBQ on.

    We might fire up the Slot Car if someone has some bigger injectors to lend me?
    Otherwise one of the 2 Robs will get it. Not that we would be in the comp though. There's different categories though, very nice and unique trophies are being made as well as lots of prizes and giveaways :D
