automotive mechanic industry... not mechanical industry.... don't get the 2 confused. so the stud, which is insulated by a red hot nut will cool faster if you manage to squirt a tiny bit of liquid on the bottom top (and not get any on the nut of course) than the nut on the outside which has the air to disipate heat to... (as well as the over spray from the quenching) :/ chances are using a small stock breaker bar you just cant get enough purchase... longer bar for more leaverage and it will come off..... with or without the stud still in it.
