Honestly, I was a little disappointed with the episode. I mean they only had a few decent challenges, and they didn't tally up the scores or anything. When Hammond couldn't handle the power of the zed and spun out, that was it; probably because they knew it would beat the fwd cars 'specially with the stig behind the wheel. But they needed more rwd related challenges like drifting or something. The braking challenge was good but I would've liked to see something like a top speed run or mucking around on a skidpan or something. Just my 2 cents
I thought the episode was pretty good. I had a few laughs, but ouch the poor cars at the end haha. Really would have liked to see how the zed fared around the track though
Funny how the 944 leaned around the corners at the start of the episode when going round the track. Reminded me of my worn out suspension Laser KE. The Z cornered nice and flat. Worlds appart.
my zed corners nice and flat ONLY because the original springs have sagged, reducing the ride height and giving a stiffer ride. Fresh from the factory, the Zed had what Clarkson himself describes as "squidgy suspension" meh... still out-handled Corvettes of the day... but then again...they are boats. Addition: Personally I liked Hammonds comments while driving though "Everything is electric. And Everything works. Even the controls on the steering wheel. NO ONE had that back then!" yep. Proud moment for the Zed. personally I doubt that Zed was sold for 1500 quid. And if it was, it was talked down with "it'll be used for Top Gear"
yeah i liked that aspect too. overall the zed did us all proud. it was clearly the best car by a country mile.

And the piano is a resent thing they do to morris's because they hate them so much. Also those rally cars were AWD mid engine. They just used to be FWD.
Yea I thought they said they were. So, if they made their 3 cars into AWD 4WS Mid engine shells with low gearing they would have been just as quick lol.

in previous eps i remember clarkson really liking the z32 and hammond hating it saying it was for fat wobbly americans?
it's staged. they'll say whatever works at the time. in actual fact clarkson does quite like the Z32.

EXACTLY! Watch clarksons OLD review on OLD Top Gear of the Ferrari 348. "Alot of People ask these days why would you spend all that Extra money on a Ferrari when for a whole lot less, You could have something like a Nissan 300ZX. They'll tell you that it's every bit as fast, that it's just as striking, and that it's a whole lot easier to drive, and they'd be right!" Got to LOVE that last closing comment. This is the Ferrari 348 he's comparing the 300ZX too, and not selling the nissan short at all!!! he then said that what the 300ZX is not, is a peice of motoring folk law (on a Ferrari level), and went on to Rave about the Ferrari, because it was a Ferrari. ...Later admitting in print... He was lying. He felt he HAD to praise the Ferrari because it was a Ferrari. It was his first ever review of one. he actually hated it.
