[QLD] the AMEC sponsored drift car at QR this sunday 15th June 2008

Beau did superbly given that he doesnt (yet) have the big power car to mix it up with the big boys.

He qualified in 17th position out of 24, then won his first battle after a re-run (which again was BS as he obviously comprehensively won the battle, the re-run shouldnt have happened). Then in his second battle, he drove the car out of sight, but the other car simply had more power and Beau couldnt keep up.

However I was very happy with the way he drove and once we get a chance to put a big power motor in the drift car, I am confident that Beau will do really well in future events.

I got hammered by uni study today as my exam is tomorrow i really wanted to come and watch the drifts but for once in my life i thought id do the responsible thing and study, sounds like a good day out! How much is it to watch btw? i was asking my mate and he said like $15?

Thats great that all went well , What other cars were entered? Mainly local drifters or were DA & SuperDrift guys in it too?

Less than 2 weeks till DA at Eastern Creek

 

lets see there was a guy called Eugene driving a black 180SX, a guy named Josh driving a V8 powered red Sprinter, the Gavin Wood Auto-tech Yellow skyline was there, the Racing Logic green cars were there, Dan Kineally was there, there were more thats all I can recall

there should be pics on the SAU thread hopefully.

Certainly does Pete and the DA cars must be pretty intimidating out there, every single round they are getting better and better.
That Morpowa car Simon Podlewski was driving in SA was a work of art! A 180SX with 750hp 2JZGTE Beautifully built car.

Trust there to be a top quality drifting event on when im out of the country...

I was under the impression that the AMEC Drift Skyline was originally white. I guess its had a colour change since i saw it last at DA Rnd 2?

 

you are correct! not only that, its changed to an R34 front too!

 

I thought the front looked different as well...

It's a clean looking car for sure (although this is sure to change after a few rounds), and good to hear you had a great deal more success mechanically than at DA

How many more events will be on this year for Beau in the local vicinity of Qld Raceway?

 

i seen this guy watching speedweek on tv over the w.end at some drifting event. some awsome drifters

 

where is the pics or the video footage. post some up i wana see the kool driftin.... hey pete how would i be able to get to be taken in and go around the track actually driftin in a drift car. iv done my poor excuse for driftin going around bends roundabouts and shit like that but not with a person who actually dose it for a sport. how much do i have to pay or even pay for a set of tyres. or what ever. hmm kkk laters

 

hey man how much would it cost to take/rent the places out for the day and set up a cruise and get everyone to go out their for the day and have some fun for a day around the track and shit. that would be an awsome day.
