yeah for sure man, no other colour id want. getting the front bumper guards bonnet and nose cone painted, then clay and polish the rest of the car.
Lookin really good Niall! a truley tough machine, inside the bonnet and out! will even be better when it's had some fresh paint on the front end. Bet you're loving it big time atm
Right on Ben, i went through a patch where i really wasnt happy with the car, 2 rebuilds in 12 months, brand new fan clutches that were no good, cheap EBC's that were no better than MBC's colapsed water pumps leading to busted fan shrouds, the list goes on. But being in a better financial situation this year meant that no expense was spared, 340 dollars for an OEM fan clutch but worth every penny 291 for a rear wheel bearing.... But having done all the long overdue repairs and upgrades, like the tinted windows(thanks brad) and countless other stuff the zed is really making me happy at the moment. When they go good they go great and it really reminds me why i bought it. 368rwhp might not sound like much by todays standards but the performance on the street is spectacular. Since the dyno day i have been slowly increasing the boost every time i drive it and making sure its not pinging. The AVCR is great for that as 1% duty cycle increases mean that very small boost adjustments can be made. The future mods for the exterior will be very small . i like the OEM+ look as the euro boys say. Ill jsut go for 2k rear lights and clear side repeaters. Ultimately ill get all the paintwork done and most of you have seen the results that my old man does so ill be really happy with a great paint job on a fairly stock looking zed.
looks about the same height as mine i like it Also i thought it wouldnt make it any more than a few cm's lower??? although I know i wont be getting one untill i have coil overs so i can raise it those few cm's.... in the middle of my bar it sits around 8cm with the stock wheels on. (currently have 350 wheels and rubber so it raises it a few cms) can anyone who's installed one comment?
Went into my old mans workshop to check on the car, he's doing a great job. We are paining the front end, 2 doors, A pillars and those windscreen trim things. We're going to modify the front bar again to better fit the intercooler guide so it will truely be a one off bar now and about as good looking as a stock bar gets in my opinion. we'll be keeping the stone ship stuff but repainting and using a urethane based clear so it has extra resistance. The long overdue bonnet repair is done, also he has fixed the "balloned" out front guards from where the car has been jacked on the sills and bent the sill and lower guard, this problem exists on just about every zed i see, but not mine now! ill take the door trims off while its in there to get hte rest of the interior leather done. im also going to give the wheels a good clay and polish. Ive decided to paint the grey area on the front bar and mirror surrounds as i feel the car doesnt need that contrast anymore. So im really happy so far, its coming together nicely As per usual, soory there is no pics!!!!!
Ill take the camera in tomoro so i promise there will be pics then. the bumper modification has been done and it looks awesome, but i wont be sharing any pics of that till its complete. i want to surprise you guys. now he's in the process of really straigtening the doors out, they werent bad, but they had alot of small dents and ripples. they will be flat as glass when he's finished. this is the stuff i'm talkin about. i know alot of you have seen these pics, but this is for the benefit of those who havent those are some previous jobs, hope mine looks as good
Good news is that he paint and laquer is on. Im not going to show you guys any pics till it is all done, clened up and finished but i can say that it is sensational. The colour is really rich and vibrant, slot of clear on top so it has some real depth and the panels are flat as. Got it de-stonechipped too while i was at it. here some pics im gonna show you guys to prove that i did have a hand it. These are the pieces that i have done, only in primer now obviously but ill get down and paint them tomoro. you can see that we removed the writing off the door mirrors as i dont think it needs to be there. All these little touches are only small but when you add them togehter it really improves the car i think and fits in with the OEM+ look im going for.
