Yep my "CF" bonnet is coated fibreglass, and is also heavier than the stock one. Does a good job of keeping temps down though
One piece tail shaft installed So this arvo I got under the car and removed the factory 2pc tail shaft. Put in a thicker, lighter alloy one from Z1. Seemed to fit up fine. Ditched the exhaust heat shield as I don't believe it's needed now. Car feels a little more wheel spin happy but that could have been the cooler air. Either way next on the list is the SSR SP1 wheels fitted up then after that the brembo front and rears and fixed up interior. Than procky may be done for a while
Associated pictures You can see that it sits flush to the diff , bolts were all even length Nice new shiny bit amongst the road grime encrusted ;p Spine section neatly fitted
looks good . but the only thing I don't like about the diff adaptor is that your tailshaft is now only 4 bolt strong into aluminium instead of 6 bolt into steel .
I had thought about this myself, a concern point. Though its not as if I do sustained track racing or drag racing so in theory I should be ok. Keep an eye out for "Holy shit batman my tail shaft tried to kill me" thread Couldn't this problem be solved by making a steel adaptor plate ? (Doesn't solve the 2 extra screws issue but)
Couldn't hurt to invest in one of those driveshaft hoops, Procky. I'd do it just for peace of mind...
Wow I didn't realise Z1 were still doing 4 bolt/6 bolt adapters. Half arsed way to make it fit isn't it?
its a cheaper way of doing it ..reduced costs their platinum steel shaft comes with the OEM CV knuckle but also offer the steel shaft with uni/adaptor without core charge . As you know same difference with ACPT and PST C/F's , so the 6 bolt joint is available .
I wouldn't be worried about 4 bolt driveshaft. Others have managed to shear axle stubs before driveshaft bolts. I'd be more concerned about your missing shield around the rear of the box procky.
Tail shaft loop I am looking into , What specific shielding is this your talking about ? Am I missing something ! ?
Andrew I also fitted up a 1 piece tail shaft last week, although I opted for the steel one. My car felt more crisp in the throttle too and yes, she seems to break traction easier now too. Not that that has ever been a problem though lol.
Totally a critical post to make but now I am stuck on what lug nuts to get for my new wheels So far I am going with a gloss black Example of rims with coloured lug nuts http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/gflaco/3240411812/
I'd be spending more time deciding which brand/type of nuts your getting rather than the colour, you've got expensive wheels now so get some decent ones. Avoid alloy if possible as they can strip/round easily if you take them on/off a bit & rattle guns will kill them. Now hurry up & bin those chrome boat anchors
Quality wasn't a issue I am getting ssr lug nuts soon as they remake our thread size ;p I'm looking at project mu now or works but I'm not sure if 50mm nuts will look weird
Heaps to choose from here http://www.conceptzperformance.com/...Wheels&CA=48&UID=20130619195914101.119.15.118 Rays for example come in 35mm and 50mm and yes come in black. Kics are very popular
