Porous ???? Like holes in it ?

Nismo has rollers and so come packed with own lubricant but these stock bushes are just brass/bronze alloy bushes?

Where do you find out that they were porous and they need oil - Do you have a reference / link?

I know they are microscopically pitted if that's what you mean - this is so the bush makes its own paste from the polish - adding oil to the alloy paste means this will wear faster though as the paste slips out easier.

Old skool days - you could use oil, things were different - bushes were looser and had less tolerance, some could even be fitted with mallet

    I don't doubt you...its just owning a Z makes you sceptical of everything.........lol

Yeah no reference, just how I have always done it. Can't recall who first told me that is how to do it.

I can't say rightly or wrongly.

Historically, Alloy/Phosphor-Bronze Bushes are manufactured by compressing micro Phosphor-Bronze balls/beads into the required shape/size(this results in there being minuscule air pockets throughout the bush/bearing)allowing the retention of lubricant.:zlove:
