    The air box/dam design is not really finalised just yet, however yes I am working towards bringing everything forwards of the radiator support panel :D

    Using the VPJ's you can move a complete car around with the motor in it too, they handle over 650kg per corner and a set of 4 was about $680 I think, definately under $700.

    I have another complete headlight set pulled apart being modified Sim, those are just in to gauge how much room I have to fit the new radiator. I might cut away the inside upper corners of the headlight support trays to allow a little more height and thickness but there's a lot going in that section and it's proving a challenge!

    nice nice, how do you plan on using the stock oem fan though if everything will be moved forwards of the rad support?

    I ditched the OEM fan about 3 years ago, it was ok but it needed something more to really keep the water temps solid. This new setup will have 3 fans in total. The OEM twin speed electric fan, and 2 12" pullers mounted behind the AC radiator. It will be a tight squeeze but this time there will be no gaps so the air will have only one way to flow.

    ahh sorry i thought u were talking about the oem fan, it makes all sense now with the twin speed electric fan. should be an interesting install im looking forward to seeing pics of progress and results :cool::cool:

    If your after info/feedback on the Roberuta Cup kit maybe check out the ultimate supra build thread I posted about late last year.
    Aussie guys built his dream supra & one of the many big dollar parts fitted is the Top Secret branded version of the Robertura Cup kit (front & rear), he's included a few close up photos of the kit plus towards the end of the thread theres some videos of them working. Might even get some other ideas from the build, its insane.

    Awesome to see you pushing phatt further, its a beautiful car & I cant wait to see the twinz bar on it!

    Thank you VERY much for linking that thread Lidz, that is the stuff dreams are made of. It's taken me 2 hours to speed read it all! The guy is committed and does what ever it takes to achieve his goal. To be honest that's the best thing about that build. What a champion.
    So many things he's done I've already got on the whiteboard. Good to see he has such a stella product to show for it all. I really want to kick it up a notch now! Cheers! :thumbup:

    I think I'll try to do as much as I can myself though, it's what I love doing the most, and keep the Zed in Australia too ;)

    Got deeper into the wiring today. Pulled the interior out including the stereo, dash cluster, amd crash pad. Even went so far as the main support beam. Unpicked the wiring for the main loom and pulled apart the interior fuse block. I snipped one of the wires from the original relay box relocation and followed it all the way around the the back of the fuse box. I'm going to shorten the wiring by going directly from the relay box (which is next to the PTU and ECU) to it's feed as most come from around the fuse block. This should tidy up the bay a lot more as it won't even make it past the firewall in most cases.

    Man just think how much fun you are going to have repacking the wiring into that corrugated protective sleeve again.... I hate working with that stuff!

    There is a tool you can use. Its a similar shape to a farmers plough- the leading edge spreads the split in the tubing, the trailing edge hooks around the wires and draws them in. This tool makes easy work of it.

    Thankyou! I really wasn't looking forward to repacking the loom, however the loom under the guards is going to be MUCH smaller once I pull all the wiring for the relay box. The loom under the dash is gong to be larger though.

    Progress! Have really made some progress of re-routing the wiring this weekend. I bought some solder sleeves on the way to Vader's Tech Day on Saturday and by the time I left there I couldn't wait to get back into it again.

    It's pretty tedious but the loom to the front of the car is looking smaller and smaller and the wiring inside the ECU bay is getting tidier too. A lot of the wires are just main power feeds to the relay box. These feed out of the drivers side footwell, travel under the guard, along the front under the radiator support panel top, and usually to the OEM relay box location. I had previously extended these wires to put the relay box next to the ECU, however now I've actually shortened most of them and just gone from the drivers footwell back to the ECU tray. Most of the smaller gauge wires originate from the passenger's footwell and travel under the guard to the OEM relay position, so these were mostly shortened in the original re-wire. This time I'm looking to neaten the whole lot up and make it look more factory.

    The main progress today was totally re-routing the PTU wiring. This normally goes from the ECU harness, out the Engine loom port (next to the AC pipes on the firewall) all the way to the PTU on the front of the engine, then returns to the relay box. Seeing as the ECU was next to the Relay box now and I changed the PTU to a Series 2 it was a simple task of shortening the wiring, joining it from ECU to PTU and relay box, then out to the coil-pack connectors. Well it kind of seemed simple but I think I've missed something in the translation :rolleyes: LOTS less wiring and only one exit out of the firewall now to the coil-packs :) I also by-passed the Series1 PTU loom to Series2 PTU loom adapter which also neatened up the wiring quite a bit too.

    While I was at it I also pulled the Apexi AVC-R boost controller wiring too. This will be replaced with something that can run dual boost solenoids for better boost control.

    The main relay box power feeds are running along the top of the dash for the time being until I sleeve them. Once I pulled the AC unit out things got a lot easier!
