Hey all, I thought I would get some expressed interest from you guys recarding the only octane booster I've used and recommend (as I've tested numerous ones) and found to be the only one with noticeable difference.

    Link is here

    http://www.nulon.com.au/products.php?productName=Pro-Strength_Octane_Booster

With details etc, basically boosts octane levels up to 7 RON.

I fill up with Optimax usually (BP Ultimate is better but more expensive) and when combining this with it seems to go very well indeed.

Weather you want it for a track day to get the extra edge or dyno chart printout to get a few more kw on the chart or everyday driving to better fuel econ, all works well.

Normal RRP on these are $23.50 each, I've been quoted if I buy 2 boxes worth (24 bottles, 12 per box) from my fathers supplier (owns a service station / general store) can get them at $16.50 a bottle. Pickup from Sydney North Shore area or delivery at your cost will be available.

Im interested in this. Filled up BP Ultimate last night after using 95 Vortex for a few weeks. Almost instant improvement. Curious to see what few points of extra Octane can do.

Hope your not using this stuff all the time... Can eat injectors and other parts of the car, read the back of the bottle ;)

Shouldn't make much differance unless you've changed the timing to suit or have really bad fuel to start with.

Insurance at the hot trackday and nothing more.

Just my opinion thats all ;)

I have a better idea, have a fuel system and tune capable of providing you with enough supply so it doesn't ping.

does it list the composition of the fluid. 99% of octane booster is actually INJECTOR CLEANER.. hence why the fuel system can be damaged

    Yeah

This isent injector cleaner is purely a booster that dosent hurt anything, there is the octane booster & cleaner but I'm not doing that one, its the one I linked.

  7. yellow300zx

    yellow300zx Pimpin Ain't Easy

    Its not the cleaner

Just a booster (dosent wreck anything only boosts RON rating.)

  8. ZedEx

yes but the compouds that most are made of destroy injector o-rings. Octane boosters DO NOT boost the power of your car unless you've had it tuned to do so. Can we see pics of the bottle?

On it's own won't increase horsepower, it will raise the octane rating of the fuel which will let you increase the timing and increase boost which will make more power.
See results here, bit old but still applicable.

dude get some av-gas(avaition fuel), metanol(race fuel) these both good real wonders, they run at approx 120% octain, but its expensive. eg at auto barn u can get a 20ltr drum for around $110, of methanol. kinda of a rip off but, if you know someone who works as a truck driver for a fuel delivery company, ask them they can usualy get it at a much cheaper rate. if you live in brisbane their is a bp servo that sells methanol not sure of price, but its at yamanto. near willowbank raceway. for those who want a bit more hp(at a risk-chances of blowing something up, or seeing a piston go through ur bonnet) kinda scary when it happens lol

    Yeah

    Plus

I heard if you run race fuel in our cars it will burn a hole straight through the pistons in a matter of speaking (or literaly)

    Don't believe

    Everything you hear.
Race fuel will not burn holes in pistons.
Lack of fuel will burn holes in pistons, as in leaning out
Race fuel is ok to run, as long as you get your car tuned for it, as in timing and fuel maps.
Run mine for some time on 110 octane, no probs.
JP's is tuned for race fuel all the time.
Downside is the cost, was paying $7.50 a litre for martini 110.

  20. yellow300zx

    yellow300zx Pimpin Ain't Easy

    Yeah

Thats what I thought if its tuned for that, if its not and runs way to rich though what then?
