i kind of like it . i think they should have gone way more 240z and left out alot of 350z , it had better not drive like a 350z
from what ive been learning, 350z have better handling than the Z32 but lacked the punch of the TT (still making them quicker than an NA) while ive been a hater, im learning much of my hate was unfounded. yes a TT will beat the 350 down the 1/4.... but by a knats pubic whisker, meaning its still pretty quick, and thats NA so add to that the fact that they've been improving the 350Z during its cycle, and the 370z "should" be faster still....... my hopes are up
retro front end... you gave me an idea ...A 340z? This is just a rough photoshop, but what about the 370z design with 240z-style headlights for a stronger retro look. I love that the new Camaro and Mustang designs look modern, but still very heavily focused on the original. I think Nissan could learn a lot from this approach...
You're on a roll there, but that could conflict with the front bumper - might give that snake look, like an RX-8

hahaha Awesome. I like this new design. Kinda reminds me of a cross between a porshe and a bmw z3... with the z styling. interior is riced up to the days, might not be everyones flavour but i'll definately buy one as soon as its in my price range. ( year 2020 maybe? )
i dont see how you 2 can't see the throwbacks to the CLASSIC zeds, the 240 and 260, when looking at the 370z If we want to throw design trend into the argument, then the Z31 and Z32 are THE FURTHEST REMOVED from the traditional zed from the whole bunch. Life did NOT begin at the Z32 The 350 tried to return, but failed. I personally think they've got it right now its retro, AND its new. i wont say "perfect" until I own one. And its already decided...I will own one.
Ugame you have a point - design wise the Z31 / Z32 do appear to be the furthest removed from the pack, I guess my rant got the better of me. BUT, having said that, if you analyse how the Z32 was brought upon us, it was light years ahead in terms of design and it was in due fact still homage to the Z31, and in some respects the 240Z. Though you may disagree you will see that there are probably many more elements from the 240 in the 300 than there are in the 350. The point I was trying to make is that the 350 pays no homage whatsoever to its ancestry and it makes no attempt to improve any aspect either. In fact they took a step back and went for the Volkswagen look. That's not to say that the 350 in it's own right is quite the beast when presented adequately (black & lowered). But in no way does it or should it carry the Z on its name. The 370 is just a "ooh I moved a few bits" version of the 350, so it carries the same problem about it's heritage. Just because they added a bit of 240 styling to it doesn't mean it goes with it. If you want to do it, you have to do it right. Not half way. Enough now, although if you flattened this 370 concept and gave it 240-esque headlights, it would serve as a revamped version of the 240Z /end rant Greg.
I disagree. Its car DNA. The 280zx looks like the 260z. The Z31 looks similar to a 280zx but not like a a 260z. The Z32 looks similar to a Z31, but not like a 280zx. It's something car manufacturers do to update the current model and bring it in line with what the 'next' model will look like as well... The 350z was designed a long time after the Z32 and doesn't look much like the Z32 OR the 240z, but it borrows design ideals from the original and uses its more playful rounder shape. The 370z accentuates that even more (a nod to the retro crowd) but updates it with modern design (like those L shaped lights). Like it or not, the 350z and the 370z are clever designs.
This is what I was waiting for someone to do. Look at the door line and the body shape. The 370 has a far more retro moulded look...
nay sayers.... I liked the 350z and I think the 370z looks hot.... If i had the money, I would buy one... before people make judgement they should really see it in the flesh and if lucky, even drive one.... Its nice to be a Z32 loyalist, but lots of us need to accept that the 350z and 370z are fine cars..
Haha after all that I was just projecting my opinion. Had my healthy argument fix for the week The 370 is great in it's own respects, but they could have done so much more. About the door lines, we've already stated that there are designs heavily conceived from the 240/280 etc but the point I was trying to make was that if you're going to do something do it completely, don't just stop half way and get hyundai to finish off the designs if you know what I mean? its all good :zlove: and opinions always WILL differ and we agree on the 350z btw. Like i said, it tried...but it failed. it really didn't have strong enough hints of the old school, and unded up looking NOTHING like ANY zed before it. = hate
