    Hi Guys,

After searching for someone who can supply a single din gauge pod for the 300ZX I have managed to find a gauge pod manufacturer who is prepared to make one.

I have herd in the past that people have been interested in something to fit in the lower din slot so that they can keep the nice design of the interior the same without having gauges hanging from the A Pillar or stuck on top of the dashboard. This is certainly my preference as the dash of the Zed looks great already.

If anyone is interested please let me know as the more interest there is the lower the price will be plus the sooner we can get them made. The company is in Perth and Australian owned.

Just to confirm this is not my company, I just want to pass on the opportunity to the rest of the Zed owners.

Hey man, I'd certainly be interested!!

    Just a few questions
    - Whats the pricing on this sort of thing?
    - is this an offer exclusively for WA residents, or can postage be arranged? if so, could you include a price for postage?
    - could this end up a group buy?
    - is there one specific colour, or could it be prepped to be painted?
    - how many gauges could it hold?

ok so there were alot of questions... but yeah, knowledge is power!!

    Cheers, Choofa

I'd be interested. A nicely designed din would be great. The universal fit I've got now that sit's at an angle doesn't fit all that well, it's easy to pull out and doesn't sit flush.

I will check with the chap who runs the company, we are discussing it at the moment to try and come up with a design that will do the job properly and something that people including myself will be please to have in their cars. Nothing on the market really fits properly in the Zed din slot.

    > Whats the pricing on this sort of thing?
Based on another similar design I have - $89ea

    > is this an offer exclusively for WA residents, or can postage be arranged? if so, could you include a price for postage?
It's open to anyone in Australia, postage will be approx $7 to anywhere in Australia.

    > could this end up a group buy?
If there is enough interest (over 10 people), I will offer a 15% dicount for a group buy so it will drop to $75ea

    > is there one specific colour, or could it be prepped to be painted?
I can supply it preprimed or painted but it's the same price either way

    > how many gauges could it hold?
The DIN slot can comfortably hold 3 x 52mm gauges but not 60mm gauges.

Also, sleepwalker - if possible can you send me a pic of the setup you have now. Send to alan@mearcat.com.au

    Cheers,
    Alan

I'm definitly interested for that price, even if a group buy doesnt go ahead. Will there be a pre-defined range of colors?

The gauge pods will be painted a dark grey colour that will (closely) match the interior dash colour. Matching grey paint colours to car interiors is a nightmare

There won't be any other options unless you want to paint it yourself (best option), or I could do a custom colour for probably an extra $20

    Update :

Tom from Perth Z Performance has offered to loan me a spare centre console piece and I will hopefully pick it up this week and start on a design this weekend.

Please be aware thought that once the prototype is finished it may be up to 6 weeks before it is actually ready for sale. I use a separate company for the raw gauge pod fabrication and they normally take 4-5 to get a mould & small production run completed (assuming no delays)
