Glad your Zed is back on the right track again Ash!! Run a fresh hose for your oil pressure gauge and clean up all the oil and you'll be good as new again!

Hoping to see everybody at Pex's cruiZe in a couple of weeks though... :zlove:

Taken from the Modifications to Motor Vehicles guide for QLD.

I read that again today Kieren. Technically Ash's setup does not have the chance of a oil line bursting and spraying the windshield, so is OK.

If it's installed in the A-pillar then I wonder where all that hot, high-pressure oil is gonna go when it bursts... all over Ash and all over the windscreen :p May not be deemed illegal but I don't wanna be in that car when it bursts, especially if it's at WOT lol!

    Accessory gauges

? be fitted in such a way to reduce the risk of injury to
    the vehicle occupants or pedestrians.

I'd guess that having an oil fire in the cabin would somewhat increase the chance of injury to the vehicle or occupants

Boost gauge is on the A pillar.... all other gauges are in a little box pod thing that sits on top of my dash and all the hoses/lines are locked away in there

Mike has picked the right line there, although it doesn't specifically say no, this then falls into general safety regs and is a big no no.

I would suggest replacing the nylon line with a copper one, alot more robust to rub thru's and such.

Good news....... The car is mobile :D:D

Chrispy to the rescue..... we just finished our temporary fix.... unfortunately it wasn't an easy fix of shortening the hose and reconnecting :(

So the guage has been disconnected and the hose has been plugged under the car so no oil is flowing through :)

Now to continue the massive cleanup job...... 2 rolls of paper towel later

Ash doesnt have her oil gauge on the a pillar. It is in an enclosed gauge holder. Though I still thought it was illegal because it was in the cabin.
