QLD Nasty Girl's P,P and P .... Day 1 .......

yep, ASHLEY'S Plenum Pull, Paint and Push is well on it's way with all the usual suspects in attendance and a few more due to arrive from the QR track activities, late afternoon ....

Kaptain Rob and BB arrived somewhat late following a rather roundabout route which included getting lost and a call on the "hogwash hoist" installation .... it was not surprising that with a little of BB's totally incompetent supervision, Gavin and his sparkie, Phil, soon had the hoist operating beautifully ... yep, 'ol Gav's erectile dysfunction has been overcome .. up and down, it slides just fine ... no lubrication required .... go, Gav ...!!!!

good progress was made on the plenum job .... with a few jumping in to do the heavy, inital stuff ... Girly boy got stuck into pulling the dash apart ... BB got stuck into an absolutely foul plenum cleaning operation ... three heavy interior/exterior solvent cleans before a few coats of primer ... Magic Mikey showing his multi-skilling with a number of jobs .. and topcoating the plenum after an early BB departure ... Cara and Ash were sighted getting very dirty hands indeed ... well done, gals ...!!!

Crispy got to ride in the 370Z .. and came back with a big smile ...

more tomorrow from the lads and lasses, i am sure ... with perhaps a little on a few of the gremlins that emerged during the Pull .... that is, of course, if they survive the sleep-over .... have fun tonight, guys and gals ..!!!

 

was a good day, except for when rob physically abused me by taking a chunk of skin from my hand lol.....good to see some mebers again.....left at around seven and the bomb fire was well and truley going....everyone was cleaning up and getting into party mode...

Was a fair bit of work! Specially that bastard window! Far out, what a PITA!

But we got it done in the end Car idles real nice and looks like the weird stalling problem is gone.

And Ron (or whoever in Miracle Zed Motors who did it!) is getting a kick in the balls for gooing the plenum gasket down with the stickiest goo in the universe!

 

He should be high fived for making sure the sucker didn't leak. Nothing like pulling everything apart just to re seal it.

Nothing a razor blade and a wire brush won't clean off though.

I took it for a drive yesterday and all seems to be going well..... Nice smooth idle now

YAY!!! I have a window again!!!!...... well I did until you guys left then it stopped working..... all good dad and I pulled it all off again and fixed it

Was a very successful weekend and now major dramas..... just a few things to finish off..... nothing a day at Chrispy's wont fix

Yet I still had to get a lift to work this morning cos I couldn't start the car ..... Why!!!!...... THERES OIL ALL THROUGH THE INSIDE OF MY CAR!!!!!!!

The hose leading up to the oil pressure gauge has split and has been leaking oil ...... so i discovered at home alone at 9:30pm last night :bash:

Everything is currently pulled apart..... now just waiting for Chrispy to come save the day

Again very big thank-you to everyone who came..... I owe you guys big time

thats because you have a stupid mechanical oil pressure gauge in the car :bash: get an electrical one....

when chris pulled the dash off he noticed oil had been leaking.....the line must have been on its last legs to just spit like that....

 

Just gotta say that all looks like balls out fun. :rofl:

No seriously, really does. Good proportion of the zed brain trust up yonder. Wish I was in attendance.

 

Get rid of the mechanical gauge, its actually illegal to have any type of mechanical gauge in the car for the obvious reasons that it split.
Mechanical guages belong on the cowl panel of RX3's and GT's
