When I inspected Jeremy's Zed yesterday, immediately thought of Zed4life's ZID and how it may have saved this car from being stolen. The ignition barrel had been demolished in attempt to start the car, column/cluster trim destroyed & door panels ripped off to remove speakers. Recently fried rubber adheres to mudflaps - CAS, engine fan, ECU, ATCU etc also missing but otherwise as seen in pics.

I'm sure Jeremy will post other news re perpetrator, and Police involvement, when he's back online.

My car was broken into the night i went away on holidays. They stole all my stereo, guages, turbo timer, CB radio, CD's even my Etag!! They smashed a window to get in and smashed the key barrel too, trying to take the whole car i guess. This was done in the underground car park at my apartment in the afternoon!!! Tim didn't tell me about it until i came back from holidays and by then i had a respray to be happy about. But i am so glad they didn't randomly vandalise my car, that is just low.

No word yet... I guess the moral here is to

be aware that our zeds are targets... I've been saying this for ages and people think I'm insane (with the seven point immobilisers in my own zed) but PolishStorm's experience is a bit of a wake up for those who don't have some form of immobilisation.

If you haven't already discovered, the z32 is extremely easy to break into and steal... To all the newbies out there, if you haven't got any protection... GET SOME...

PS: I will be making a new batch of ZID's over Christmas and will post updates in F/S by Business section.

Some people have no idea how much it hurts to see their pride and joy destroyed. I was devastated when my windows were smashed to take my stereo while i was at work, I dont know how I'd cope if they took everything else too. Hope you're coping ok...

hey guys sorry for the late reply. as K-Zed let you guys know the damage and parts taken has been much more extensive than what we would have thought. I am now back in melbourne and the car has only just been released for pick up by the council due to the crime report number. As such i am going to need some help in sourcing a set of wheels and someone to go out to the council depot to bolt them on so they dont do anymore damage when it comes to moving it now. once that is done i can then get a tow truck to move it to a secure place and start getting her ready for a rebuild. if anyone down the coast is able to assist me in this i will cover costs associated and my appreciation will be given. In regards to the thief and police, i havent had my phone on me the last 10 days so i guess i will be able to give you an update when i give them a call today.

Let me know details by PM, E or phone. Also, if you want to get her mobile you might consider having Zed towed to Gavin Woods where I can assist with re-wiring ECU etc. I'd advise this if only to get her on a hoist and assess underbody damage/repair of brake lines etc. You could then put into storage pending further repairs.

Email an authority, with Crime Report No. if you want me to collect parts... assuming some were recovered.

NB: Have pics of interior damage if you want me to send them or I can post here.

Fortunately, once mobile, the other repairs are not difficult once parts have been sourced.... just a bloody shame. I hope the perp was caught and charged.
