If I was you, I would get it running/rolling. Buy a seat so it can be driven and get it on a car carrier down to Melb if thats where it will end up.

It is easy to get the bits down here and then you can take your time.

Car carriers from north to south are cheap providing the car is able to be moved and run.

They have to fill the south going carriers that are delivering fords and holdens north on the way back. Talk to Finemores about the freight.

First point though is make a lit of what you need to fix the sucker and talk to Cresta and others. Put as many spares as possible in the car when it comes down so you dont have to post or freight them.

A windscreen down here is $195 fitted. I have hatch glass and a lot of interior bits you can have.

so sorry to hear about what happened, the pics are devastating.

i've been looking for all the bits i have in my garage, and none of them seem as if they'll be useful to you, but if you do up a list i'll be able to get a better idea of what you need so i can donate.

for the WA boys, maybe once a list has been organised, if we're donating stuff we'll make up a Recovery Zed Pack to save on postage etc.

Been reading through the posts of everyone willing to donate and help, this is unreal...... goose bump sorta stuff. Great work guys!!

Hey guys I have located some of the parts being sold on the net. these "low-lifes" but you are better putting the matter into the hands of the police. You really don't know who you are dealing with and things could go terribly wrong.

Don't lower yourself mate. Let the police deal with the scum.

 

Put it this way...

If the police deal with it, they get a criminal record.

If you deal with it, YOU may get a criminal record. I know they deserve a lot worse then what the police will give them but its not worth the risk of having that on your record (increased insurance premiums, less oppurtunities for future jobs etc to name a few).

The advice is probably too late if you dont have net access though

I had my car broken into (3 times) and eventually caught the bastards and got my stuff back. Very sad to see somebody have such disrespect for such a beautiful car... You'll have your Zed rebuilt...but I have some ideas on how to catch the thieves...check your pm

Along with the other 120+ replies i am very sorry to hear your news, just a question, did your car have an alarm? and was it in the street?
Ask neighbours around the area as teh sound of smashing windows would have caught an eye, along with put posters up around safeway or coles or somthing just incase any1 saw anything, think of any1 who has beef with you, and find out discretly where they were that night, cause this job must of been someone u know, as there was grafiti and pretty much stripped the car clean.
Just thought i'd give some points, to help what i can.
If i were you, i wouldn't sleep till i found them, turn myself into a detective ,
