Cheers, I have decided not to remove the lines on the sides. I think the bar requires it to keep the styling flow. Plus without it, it would be a little too similar to the Greddy.
hmmm being honest im not the fan of the side ducts opened, looks way to close the the greedy bar to me. and the old style taillights date the front bar i think! i prefer front mouth opened, numberplate shaved and thats it!
Considering that you have been following the progress from the start, its a little late in the build to be changing your oppinion. The indicators (NOT TAILLIGHTS) were the first thing that I modded. No one thought that it looked dated then. This is been designed as a bar to be affordable and that both FMIC and SMIC will like. And that is exactly what it is going to be. I have already spent 20hrs and $300 in the process of making this one but if you want one specifically to your liking I can build one for you but It will cost you around $1500.
As I've mentioned earlier, I wasn't convinced about this at the start but I've come around - I'm very impressed by your work. The Greddy bar is very popular, so a 2K bar (which still looks the best in my opinion) with similar dimensions and characteristics has to be popular. Like others, I wouldn't hand over cash until I've seen it finished, but I like where its headed. Good work!
any thoughts on the prices yet? if these can be provided for a cheaper price than places like carmate then im sure there will be lots of interest, im holdin off my respray untill i get a new bar.
I had planned from the start to sell these for $500 incuding GST. Not inculding shipping For the local SEQLDERS I will also prime and paint for an extra $300. (provided they dont have custom paint)
Thats a very attractive price if it does include shipping mate! I would much rather give my hard earned to a member of the forum, and from what i can see your product will be of higher quality than those from carmate etc. ( note, not trying to bag carmate but like ive said before, ive never received a bar of theirs that didn't need to be butchered to make it fit to a customers car! ) So, when do you start taking orders
Sorry that came out wrong. $500 incuding GST but shipping is extra. Id make no money out of you WA guys if shipping was inculded.
haha fair enough, makes it a little less inviting but i cant see shipping being more than 100$ to W.A yeah? so even then its still a pretty attractive price, as long as shipping isnt something like 300$ im sure there will be buyers.
If enough of us WA people want to get this bar I'm sure a split postage bill should be much more attractive?
Ive made a few inquiries about shipping This is through E-go couriers. These are rough guides so please dont quote me them. Everyones situation will be different. This does not include insurance which I will insist they get shipped with. If you are after an exact price for yourself here are the package details. Dimensions -175x50x60cm Weight - 8kg I will be dropping these off at the Arundel 4214 Depot to save the 25% Shipping to your door in Perth 6000 is $141 Shipping to the depot in Perth $95 (pickup yourself) Shipping to your door in Melbourne $55 Pickup from depot $36 Shipping to your door in Sydney $42 Pickup from depot $28
would it be possible to "stack" several bars into one package to be delivered. the more people to share postage the better
could be possible, but i dunno if its worth the risk as if someone drops the box then all the bars inside will get damaged.
Just pick it up from the Forrestfield depot so you can get the bar for less than 600. I picked up my 2k bar from the depot a while ago. I ripped up the packaging and managed to fit it in my 2-seater to bring it back home
Very Interested in this project, I am another WA member to be happy to share postage costs however I live pritty close to forrestfield so pickup of my bar and others could be arranged. Anyways hope to see some more pics and feedback from other members on the bars before going ahead
Progress has been slow recently as I had a week off to go snowboarding. But I got a little done since Ive been back and it is getting close to being ready for molding. The biggest update is that it now fits on a car so here are some pics of what the finished bar will look like.
