is the car still on the ground?
i am going to be there around 12 (working in the morning) but if you guys flip the car over before I get there, could one of you please undo the rear axle bolts (the big nuts that you see through the centre of the rear brake rotors). They are pretty big and will be on tight so might need someone in the car to stamp on the brakes and hold the handbrake up to stop the hubs from turning as you try to undo them (might need some INOX or WD40 too). If the car is flipped before I get there then I won't be able to undo those nuts and I need to separate the halfshafts from the hubs.

I doubt anyone would have a socket that big there, I had to use Tekky's big ass one and yes you can undo the hub bolts when the car is flipped you just lock up the diff with a big screwdriver or similar

 

good idea. do you remember if the nut was bigger than a 32mm? I have up to 32mm in my socket set.

 

If the handbrake springs and long screws haven't been claimed yet (attached to the rear hub), can I please have them?

 

sorry martin, my mate needs all of it with the rear hubs. needs it for 5 stud conversion on a 180sx

 

I might drop in for a look and to lend a hand if I'm free. No guarantees though.

we may not be able to flip the car over and get the undercarriage out properly. If anyone has any spare cinder blocks it might be a good idea to bring them along, or anyone to loan some jack stands until billy gets the shell carted off for scrap.

 

i'll bring a jack and have 4 stands that i can lend to billy if needed.
if we're not flipping the car over can we still somehow destroy the car? is tomorrow a total fireban?

Nah we need to delve deep. I love these opportunities as it's a good chance to see how everything is put together (not that my car is currently a good example of a complete zed, time to get off my arse and finish it )

 

now i'm gonna expect to see a complete interior in yours tomorrow and might even overlook that infill panel go on, chop chop and get to work.

I just checked my hubs, the nut is NOT 32mm its more like 36mm (measured it with a ruler)

 

nope but i can get another bottle.

what weight where you after? bottles going for 54 a bottle. (for power/turbolight)
