Just wanting some pics/thoughts on my latest idea...

My zed is currently black (from factory) and I want to kit/paint it up. I was thinking of something similar to the paint scheme the 180/silvia drift boys do. I am thinking of painting the front bar, front guards, doors/skirts, and rear panels/bar all in a metallic blue colour similar to that of Benny's zed (a little darker blue though or maybe even an orange similar to the latest Ford XR models). This would leave the nose panel/bonnet roof and pillars as well as the rear hatch in black. Hopefully I have explained this in such a way that you can get what I am thinking. Then I would replace the bonnet with a carbon fibre item and maybe the nose as well.

I know that someone on this forum has a similar thing but with silver/black two tone. If anyone has any pics that would be great, even better if someone could photoshop something for me.

    All comments appreciated! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

interesting idea. not sure about your colour choice, i think a silver would do you better. although you may notice that most serious silvias have had resprays so that theyare all a uniform colour.

Perhaps you could experiment with some vinyll that could be a better option

Something like that but with CF bonnet

I think that it may look better in person, and a different blue (a little darker, like a medium metallic blue - saw a really nice blue colour on a zed posted on this forum not long ago - had a mad bodykit including wide rear scoops) or an orange colour.

If you want it to look like a race car.then you colour choices are right on

I had a commodore race car and did it the dark "surf' blue with a bright orange mix. Took it off a nascar design and the two colours together look awesome.
You'll be making a statement though! Its loud.

Benny, do a dark blue metallic Zed with the bright orange(not dayglow) design. marbe run the orange from the corner of the bar up through the guard starting off as a thin line and expanding out to a fat orange stripe or something.... sounds yuk but you never know the effect it may have.

    Just my opinion.

I don't want to look like a race car as such

Just wanting something a little different, and the idea is that the car is already black and I don't need a full respray. Benny's current design is on cue with what I am thinking, but maybe with bright orange.

    Now that looks good

Not sure if I would paint the nose cone black or go for nose cone in the orange as well. I really like that, not sure how the targa top would look though.

Can someone photoshop a similar thing (orange/black combo) using this pic: (this way we are using the current black colour of my car)

Looks good  Just out of interest though...

What if you were to keep the pillar section Orange???

Either just up until the start of panel above windshield, or all the way across above the passenger window?

    Just an idea.

Would be interested to see how it looks

    5K1TZX Its all never ending....

shouldnt mess with the Z's class...but ofcourse its your taste.

It just looks like you couldnt afford the other half of the paint job. 2 tone dosnt match the cars lines or where the panels finish etc.

    Thought the same thing fate....

But to be honest it just didn't look finished because the black just stopped half way thru a panel, or pillar...

Maybe an orange stripe on bonnet would break up the black a bit and take away from the black pillars...

    hmm 2 toneing

you can get it to look REALLY good or really really SHIT depending on the choice of colours...in my opinion blue and black wouldnt do it for me.. lime green and black.. now THERE is a winner :D

I have been told that it is hard to change from black to orange with

photoshop. So perhaps finding a suitably orange coloured car and then getting it blacked would be better?
