no i didn't have idle problems after removing the aiv system, but assuming you have no other vac leaks then your car should idle fine if you follow the posts above. i think the way you have it now (balance tube connected to intake pipe) is wrong as you are bypassing the throttlebodies and letting air into the plenum which may be messing up with how the IACV/AAC controls the idle.

talk about getting lost whilst taking a walk in the park.

why is it then, in the tech write ups, none of this problem solving has been revised. if its as simple as following the write ups, why are few of us experiencing problems? ive got two zeds to do this too, but for a simple process it seems to lead to issue?

is it purely due to the differences in conditions of the vac lines, and engine maintenance? or are few of us not following the write ups correctly?

ive read the few write ups created, all say the same thing more or less. should it be that simple?

Zedboy, what has became your outcome? Sandeep has a point, that its bypassing the TB's, but is this not what is written in the techs?

I also did the same as sandeep. Where the AIV connects to the balance tube has been blocked off by a 4mm rubber cap.

The line from the intake pipe goes to the EGR.

Problem solved thanks to sandeep and mikez32, balance tube must be capped off for the mean time i just used a bit of vacum hose with a screw in the end, and the other end i joined to the vacum port before the TB, using the T-peice from the AIV's. :) Don't know why it didn't come to me that it was due to by-passing the TB that was causing the idle problem. Just went into panick mode that something was wrong lol.
So i guess the tech section should be updated for those who wish to remove the complete AIV system, or i just should have used some common sense.

Thanks again to those who help me out. :zlove:
