VIC Haunted Hills hillclimb day....>> 18th October

Can't do Will be making the first trip across to Adelaide with a load of stuff. Tried to convice SWMBO to go another weekend, but no success.
Since I am not going at least you will know that it will be a clear day.

 

You will have to organise a track day over there Dave. And give us a enough notice so we can come over and join you.

 

That is a challenge, and I'll see if I can organise something. What is there only race track? Do they have one?

Alex, are you talking about Haunted Hills, where we are going - or SA, which Dave is referring to?

Haunted Hills is near Morwell, not really a fast track given that it is a hillclimb - but it does have some challenging rise and fall, and tight corners. Plenty of pics and vids elsewhere in this thread.

Dave, Adelaide has Adelaide International Raceway (AIR), but I am not sure how it gets used these days. I believe it's still owned by the Bob Jane group, and combines a drag strip with a circuit much the same way as Calder does. It may see club use for track days, I just don't know.

Mallala circuit is (I think) NW of Adelaide, and gets more publicity these days. I've never driven it, but, as Pete says, if there is the chance for an organised day, I'd be up for a long weekend . Maybe it is something that could also be put to other NDSOC and forum members. There is (or was) an SA based Z or Nissan/Datsun club, I will see what I can find. An SA vs Vic challenge could be good fun.

I don't know if there are any other circuit or hillclimb type places in SA, but I would be surprised if there wasn't.

Not wanting to get off topic on the hauted hills one, I'll start another thread after some research.

 

Definately interested in a run at Mallala if you can get one up Dave.

 

Confirming that I have entered for this; forget my earlier post about no motorsport this year - I have a driving itch that needs to be scratched without hosting my own blue light disco at the side of the road .

The new motor now has over 1000km on it, will do an oil change on Saturday. Will be keeping boost and revs lower than I was using at the Nats as the dyno and tune won't be done till after I get back from SA.

Daughter needs DREDZ to get to her school placement in King Valley (seized a camshaft in her Eunos on the way back a couple of weeks ago, had to get it towed from Euroa, and it's still at Wallards - new (well, reco'd) heads). Was only going to spectate - for various reasons I need to comply with the CAMS licence medical requirements, so I wouldn't have had the licence in time anyway.
