Got this in the in box this morning. I loved the track when we were there last year and I know a few guys were interested in having a crack, so here is a chance.

Get your entries in and join me, or just come for a look.

Yes I want to do Haunted Hills.
Not sure it will be this event though ... a) I have a sneaking suspicion that Sunday is spoken for, and b) RZ2 still won't be run in and tuned after the rebuild. Thinking of getting the dyno work done after return from Loxton. Taking it easy on the road is one thing, but do I trust myself to take it easy on a track???

I did tell myself "No more track stuff until Sandown in January", might be wise if I stick to that!

Hopefully driving but if not I'll try to come down to spectate anyway.

    Hmmm, interested

But I need to do some serious ground work on SHMBO. As we are moving, that?s right I am leaving the dead garden state to go to the state of crow eaters.

More important is how many sessions are you likely to get in the day??
And, will the weather hold out? As my car has been nick name ?the Drought Breaker?, and I am sick and tired of wearing wetsuit with a helmet

    red32 You talkin' to me?

It's about time I dipped my wick in the motorsport world apart from the straight line thing! So long as there is a guarantee that I don't end up like Max, I'm in. Loxton is the week after, right? Need a car to get me there.

First question: how do I get a AASA or CAMS licence? Could join NDSOC, but they only meet on Wednesdays, which is when I work.
    Second Q?: do I need a roll-cage, etc?
Third question: Is this the track which replaces the old Gippsland hillclimb track?

    Late development:
Just went to the AASA web-site! I won't fit within their requirements, time-wise.

    BUGGER!

Might just come along on the day for a look-see!

You should come Dave. It would be fun to hit the track before you move too far away to make it easy.

Damn right it is about time you took motorsport to the next level Doug. You can join the NDSOC Doug, going to meetings isn't mandatory. No you don't need a cage. Yes it is the new Morwell track that replace the old Gipsland Hill climb track.

There is plenty of time to get your licence sorted out Doug. If you want I can speak to Karen on Monday and get the wheels in motion. At DECA there where guys who took out licences on the day, so it obviously isn't conditional on the AASA getting the paperwork and then sending it back.

Appreciate it if you could do that, Pete. But to quote Karen:
Now, to visit TTF and get a little negative camber dialed in, change the brake fluid (DOT 4, isn't it?) and check the pads.

A CAMS licence is too easy. Go to the CAMS website and print out the licence form. Rock up top the NDSOC meeting on Wednesday night and fill out a membership form. Pay your money and a committee member will endorse the bottom of your CAMS licence application which gives you an automatic temporary licence for 30 days while your official licence is being processed.

Hey Doug, I can easily print out any forms you email me and hand thewm to Karen (along with entrant money) at the meeting on Wednesday night. Just send them to my work email address peter.l.saunders@unisys.com . I'll text you Karens number so you can call her and sort out the finer points.

Corvette after the first corner through 2/3 of the circuit, I bet he never copped a penalty for the cone he hit at the 29 sec mark:

    Helmet to borrow??

Would anyone who is going to this happen to have a helmet that I could borrow so I can hassle WYKKED for a lap as a passenger :zlove: & scare the crap out of myself!

I'm a 6'4" guy & my head is in proportion! or so I would like to think! :p ......so it would need to be a fairly large size?

Or does anyone know if there is anywhere that will hire a suitable helmet for the day?

    CheerZ
    Russ :)

Mike, Pete and I are all entered and it looks like not a lot of people entering so we should get heaps of runs (fingers crossed). Anyone who feels like a nice drive on a Sunday is welcome to come down and spectate, maybe even go for a lap of the track in one of the cars during the passanger session.
