My first Z was '90 spec cream. Previous owner had a receipt for a $2700 repair and spray for a front fender :O Match seemed flawless, but goddam!
Later crashed that exact fender into a tree and wrote off the car. Whatever :\

A little update on where I am at.

I moved house last weekend & we are still living out of boxes. So I've been flat out trying to sort out all the little issues here, but also spent a lot of time cleaning up the previous home.

The Z gets into the driveway at the new place.... just! It couldn't be any tighter haha. If I go any faster than a snails pace it does scrape. But it clears and that is great news. It won't be much fun when the 6 puck clutch goes in, but I do plan on having the entrance re-done and widened.

The double garage the Z now lives in, though it has more room either side isn't nearly as long. The garage at the old joint was a lot more practical for me with the high ceiling and extra length. There just isn't the room to easily get a trolley jack in from the ends anymore, but I'm sure I'll work something out. There is a handy shed at the end of the driveway I'm thinking of pulling the engine in, but again not sure how I'll go length wise.

The heads are finally completed!!! I got the word today they are ready to be collected, so hopefully grab them next week. I also have a box of the last required parts for the built motor such as timing kit etc...

I still haven't had the front end sprayed. Thinking of holding off until I have a replacement rear wing.

That's all I have right now. Once I get the internet sorted here I'll put up a few pics of the new garage etc.

    Ummm spacxe issues?????
Why dont you just jack under the diff and pull it around sideways in there? More room than youll know what to do with then dude.
    Seems straightforward to me!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't complaining. Simply stating that the big single I had at the previous place was more practical to work in than the double. It still has a heap of space.

No pics still due to no internet connection on my PC. I promise I'll post pics in next update, as I know it's boring without them.

I picked the heads up at the beginning of the week. Huge improvement and plenty of meeting surface for custom gaskets to seal on the inlets now. Waiting on a few bits and bobs (in transit) before I can assemble the heads back on.

Also bolted the TwinZ lip to the '99 fascia. The front end still isn't painted at this stage due to shortage of funds. Priority is to install the Powertrix tension rods, rear upper control arms & HICAS lockout bar & get the wheel alignment done.

EDIT: Also forget to mention I won sponsorship with Wiring Specialties. I won a brand new harness (that I donated to chilledpain) & will be promoting their business. I am required and happy to wear their decal(s) & think it would look best across the windscreen. I am planning to call on them when I pull the engine out to replace the typical broken coil pack connectors etc...

Passion has slowly drained away of late. Constant delays and hold ups are taking their toll. Waiting for it to reignite & for some parts to show up so I can put the block back together.

Mine do but I don't know if it was rewired to do it or if it was a factory thing.

It's a race. If this comes up for sale I might buy it and selling the convertible :p but I hope you keep it Jono, it's a rare beauty.

    From memory, yes they do.

I'm not at the stage of wanting to sell, it's the motor swap I'm over. It has been a long time coming & still needs a lot doing, I just don't have the energy or urge to get it completed.
I'm sure that will all change with time, but currently it's a real effort to do anything.

    Rant update!!!

I don't understand how this sh!t happens. So I did my research and found a new painter to use (after the car was covered completely in black overspray at the last place). I gave them my front bumper, ducts & front lip to paint. I wrote them a list of parts I'd given them (1x bumper, 1x lip, 2x ducts), the paint code, my contact details and also provided my nose panel to match the paint to.

Well after dropping the parts off just over 2 weeks ago I received a call it was all ready to collect. My father was kind enough to collect it all in his ute today while I was at work and drop it off at my house. I just got home and was keen to check it all out and the d!ckheads stripped down the nose panel (Z badge and rubbers) and resprayed it! Not only that, they didn't bother to re-install the parts so I now have a nose panel with two holes in it where the badge should go, no rubber trim and it doesn't colour match the rest of the car anymore!!!

F*CK ME IT ISN'T THAT HARD IS IT?!!!

That's what you get for not standing next to them and holding their hand Jono.

So now they not only have to paint it again, but strip back the incorrect newly painted bumper, lip and nose panel. Would hate to be the guy on the other end of you phone call tomorrow haha
