VIC Great Ocean Rd Cruise - Sunday Nov 29th

Howdy folks, its that time of year again. The GOR cruise is back. Some of you will remember that we also had a GOR cruise in Feb this year, but it was plagued by lots of traffic and tourists. So we are moving it back to the end of November where it belongs!

Date: Sunday, November 29th

Meet Location (Start): United Servo, Westgate Fwy, Todd Rd, Outbound

Time: 7:30am arrival, 8am STRICT departure


Meet Location for Geelong crew: Point Danger, Torquay

Time: 10:30am - 11:00am


This years cruise will be a little different to previous years, and also longer (261 kms). Click on the link below to see the map. We will be doing a scenic route up towards Portarlington and along the coast down to Point Danger, Torquay where we will meet the Geelong contingent. From there, straight to Apollo Bay for lunch (about 1pm)

Cruise Details

Unlike previous years, we will not be stopping at the BP servo in Avalon. So ensure that your car has a full tank of petrol when you start the cruise. Since the cruise is a bit longer this year, time is of the essence. So to avoid delays and tourist traffic, we will be starting a little earlier. Hence, the 8am departure from Todd Rd. Also, our one and only stop will be a 30-40 min break at Point danger in Torquay. I suggest bringing some snacks and drink in the car if your prone to getting hungry as there are no nearby places to buy food at Point Danger.

Count me in. I'm new here guys. My Z is a 2 seater and it happens that my brother from overseas will be visiting on that weekend with his girlfriend. Anyone got a spare seat by any chance?

I can't help with the spare seat I'm afraid. I have a 2+2, but the rear seats are completely occupied with two baby seats and I already have a passenger for the front. But someone else may be able to help you out.

I will be...

The return trip is not officially part of the cruise so people can head off when they want and which way the want. But I myself will be heading inland at Skenes Creek and heading towards Forrest. Some awesome inland roads there with very little traffic. Thats the way I'll be going

 

We are out of this one . Next time ..

 

oh man how I'd love to be cruising on those roads.
