BIG QUESTION IS THO.... are these adr compliant? after reading above a few posts im kinda now worried. ryan
same here.... ...am worried as well, and would be very disappointed if comes out, i just spent $180 for brakelines, and can`t even use it can you let us know if they are adr compliant???? cheers
that's the reason i got the , because they supposed to be ,, i all ready got braided break lines on the car but there not adr approved .. i want adr approved ....
As I originally said that these lines are ADR approved as they appeared to be the same as UAS's I thought I should go and have a look into it. According to the NCOP for brake modification the the relevant ADR's that may be effected by brake modifications are ADR 7 and ADR 42. The NCOP does not state anything in regards to the repolacement of brake lines other than you can't replace them with copper lines and you can't braze them together. See here ADR 7 has been discontinued as it has been incorporated into ADR 42. I'm not sure what ADR 7 used to state as it was removed in 2003 and I can't find any copies online. ADR 42 states: Full source here I am reasonably confident that anything manufactured by Goodridge would conform to BS and SAE standards. I'll put it this way, I would use these lines without a second thought.
thanks for that info crispy but as far as i am aware, if they dont have a tag on them to say they are adr aproved, then wont u just get hammered bu cops if they spot em? or what aboput insurance reason then? grrr
It notes only that they must comply with one of the standards, if any one of those standard does not require the lines to be tagged then it is irrelevant. The lines have some sort of identifying tag on them, can't quite tell what it says from this picture though...
thanks Chrispy I'm still a little iffy ... but the ones i got on the car are 11 years old so time to go anyway ............
Rob, please supply the relevant legislation that states that they must, I can't find any reference to it. This could have been in the old superceded ADR 7. There is no way that Goodridge lines don't comply with one of the standards as they would have had a hand in writing them...
Possibly. When doing the last group buy info from the supplier (so the importer, not UAS) was that to comply with ADRs the lines MUST be tagged with the specs that they were manufactured to.
Oops posted in wrong part of thread http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?p=679803#post679803 hope for the sake of the buyers that you are right chrispy
More info I posted this in another thread a little while back, exact cut and paste from the Aussie importer of goodridge For lines to be ADR compliant they need to be made from coated braided line not bare, be fitted with anti-whip collars and be mark when made with the manufacturer, date produce and the standard they have been made too, all of which Goodridge have. These ones have no anti-whip collars and no markings.
