Fuel consumption - estimates?

  1. Dont freak out too much mang it aint that bad,

    i traded up from a 94 N14 Pulsar wich at one point in time i managed to get 567 killometers out of 1 tank of freeway driving, to my TT rocket, i felt the pinch to start with but the fun factor simply kills the money outlay ...

    1.6 4cyl or 3.0 V6 TT ......Hmmm tough decision . :zlove::LOL::LOL:

    I use to get around 300klm to 56L

    around town in my N/A but recently i changed my o2 sensors , 100k service and cleaned my injectors and replaced injector seals and also replaced most electrical plugs as they were corroded and the last tank it was 402klms to 55L and running a/c for atleast 50% of that time. Mind you my misses drove it for 350klms of that and she drives pretty sensible.

    Tektrader Z32 Hoe, service me baby

    I need to borrow Conzult

    I suspect that the O2 sensors in mine maybe stuffed. 380 klms to 55 litres is Bullshit.

    We will see what its like on a trip tomorrow. I am going to Wangaratta and back

    red32 You talkin' to me?

    Came back from Canberra last weekend (652km)

    on 60 liters of fuel (=9.2L/100km)
    My (auto) NA returns this sort of fuel economy quite regularly in hwy cycle using overdrive/torque converter lockup and cruise control, with the A/C operating, at 110-120kph! Actual travel time under 6 hours.
    That gives a theoretical maximum distance of just over 780kms per tankful of juice.
    Take it or leave it, that's the way it is! The secret is in the maintanence of a STEADY cruising speed, avoiding the application of full throttle! If you can find one, sit close behind a B-double travelling at the speed-limit (remember to pop-out into his rear-view mirror every now and then), you'd be surprised how much fuel that can save you!

    RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

    My TT has returned over 600km from 60 litres

    on quite a few occasions - always country runs though, and in conditions as Doug described. Can't bring myself to sit behind a B Double though.

    Over a 15000km test I averaged about 12.5lt/100km, this includes, country, city, thrashing, etc.

    I hate travelling in convoy with TT's. You have to stop too often

    while they top-up with petrol!!!! :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

    Fastest I went on the way back from C'berra was 150kph for about 10 minutes, trying to get rid of this Toyota Hilux tailgating me with its headlights on high-beam.

    Your details and frank admission have been noted!........:LOL::LOL:

    150kph for 10 minutes.
    Could you please indicate precisely what 25k section of roadway this offense was committed upon? (It will assist in the Court case.)
    Hurrumph!!:p:p:eek::eek::eek:

    Best Fuel Rates

    Ha Ha getten a sports car i was thinking that i would suffer... however i now know the VG30 is a very powerful, but also very efficiant motor... could be the quad cams but more likly the fact its a 60 degree V6.. more unique than your usuall 90 degree v6 or V8!!

    When i first got the car i filled the N/A aussie up with premium fuel and had to shift easy cos at the time i had my "old" F&*^*ed two peice shaft in it... so short shifting saw me get 550kms of CITY croozing... i was dumb founded of that high rate... and that was before i serviced it and i had blocked filters too!!

    Of course powerful engines also drink a lot if u let them!! ;)... so my point is if u can fight your cravings of the power... shift easy and get max Mileage!!

    cheers azzurro zed 32 go MARK WEBBER!!

    Seriously, who gives a f**k bout economy, when you buy a zed

    fuel economy should be the last consideration. A TT's like any other 3.0L V6 220+KW engine in a 1500Kg+ car.

    If you are worried bout fuel consumption, then a zed may not be the best choice as the yearly maitenance/repairs on a 15 yo hi-po car can easly exceed fuel consumption costs for the average daily driver who does none of their own work.

    Not trying to be an assh**e or put you off but that's the reality.

    BTW: I get an easy 450K's b4 the fuel lamp comes one but I could care less !!!

    Agree if you are worried

    about economy costs then you are looking at the wrong car. But if you decide to buy you will not be dissapointed and you'll never look back!
