Yes, they are a big engine because they are for big cars. Stop kidding around with these toys and covert a Detroit Diesel 60 series in it already!
yes doing your ford conversion will be expensive.. personally i dont think it would be a bad idea.. its different.. cheap power.. (300kw with basic mods+tune) only down side is if you do start boosting them and do blow that thing... its going to be expensive to replace... i hear they have weak internals l98... 6L v8 into a zed has been done... i dont see why this can not be done.. get that motor in there... tub that zed and go for a 10 second pass!!!
ok not knowing a lot about Drift setup, is all that weight that is foward of the front axles going to help or hinder the cars capabilities, Off topic I know soz all.
Big straight 6's in a zed engine bay is just too much work, especially with those monster gearbox's, and with that pricing it's just expensive. You can get a crate LS7 for $13k, parts are even cheaper, power potential is significantly more, and they are lighter. Get one used and your down to about $6k and you can bolt up a tremec 5 speed and go nuts or get an adaptor plate made up. Plus there has been plenty of people drop in an LS series motor into the zed, so your fabrication costs are cut significantly, as you only have to do it once. If you want to be different, source a supercharged LS9 crate motor and create enough torque with zero mods to send the earth rotating the other direction. Fk, there was a 5L v10 TT diesel crate motor out of the VW toureg that was 10k, instant 500HP and a gazillion nm of torque. Granted your ford idea is different, but it's just no good for our cars. Supra or skyrine, yes, but zed, too hard for so little.
