I would be interested in knowing who has the fastest Z on the forum - i know this is going to be a tough one but basically post your fastest time down a 1/4 mile and what stage you are at.The point of this post is to find out if it is a real reality to get a 10sec Z and for what price. A family friend and myself are actually tossing up between putting a TT Z engine in and working it OR (and most likely)........bwa ha ha.......... Supercharging a V8 (which yes, will fit!)I'm sure I will get some interesting posts back on this one.Nate
well... franz just ran a 12.7 and i remember a guy called matt who ran a 12.5 in an auto TTZ + Na diff, i dont think there are any faster Z`s than that in aus,and before you wishers say "but in the US people run 11s all day" that is not here and not on our forum

CMEFLI did 11.3? But don't remember the list of mods, it had a Trimatic which I think helped a lot.Zmokin did a 12.3 I think. Most people on the forum haven't ever really put some slicks on and tried.Ben
what v8 you thinking of using? you are talking about putting it into a Z right? I know people in the US have fitted an LS1 into a Z with relative ease. I think once you start talking about 10 second cars, it won't make much difference really, and it'd be nicer to have done it with the original engine (or therebouts!) than with some bastardized hybrid car!Just slap on a pair of TD06s and greddy manifolds, injectors, cooler, forged pistons, rods, cams, etc, then strip it down to bare essentials, add some drag tyres, adjust suspension, happiness.

I know of a .... Supra that has a Lexus V8 with massive single turbo that has just been finished and will be putting out big numbers. Not sure if you could squeeze one into the Zed. You can get alot of power out of the Zed motor though :YD

Would that be equal to Infinity V8 in the Z? By the way, what's the thinnest oil anyone ever tried for power? like 0W20?
HPI had shot of 10sec NA Z from japan. Was running N20 though, as you would expect. Engine looked pretty sweet, had six throttle bodies and trumpets.
Had mine on the Dyno two weeks ago . . . I got 128 Kw at the wheels and 395 Nm torque in fourth and a massive 520 Nm in third. Was a bit disappointed about the low Kw figure - had expected more.
I've seen a pic of it... ...in a couple of Jap mags.I know of someone here in WA working on putting a VH45 into a zed.I personally was thinking about supercharging a VH41.
I'll 1/4 mile mine when I get it back I will try and get it down a legit 1/4 dragstrip. I've got plenty of mods done to it (see profile) Might even slap on a pair of slicks for the rears to see the difference, probably a good thing seeing as they'll now be 18's and low profile (probably 35's) street tyres.
