I'm beginning to like it here Definitely gonna have to buy a ZX. This community beats the MR2 one by far. They're all old men or cocky hektic keyboard warriors.

JD I think I met you at the last cruise (mine is the silver one with the different front bar to all the other ones). I can't come to the kebab meet tonight but if you can make it to winton or DECA I'm sure you'll be able to scab a ride or go head to head against a zed, or just come round to a tech day.

 

Just came home from the meet.

Had 3 zeds there at the start. Dunno where they ended up. Was good to have a chat with you guys though. I learnt a bit more about the cars which is always a plus
People wanted to leave the kebab joint at 9.30 but then I remembered Chad was coming at around 10 so I made them wait. It got to 10, still no Chad so we went for a cruise.

On another note, the mr2australia thread... Why the hell are they being so nice?!! They rip into me when I mention zeds. I guess they were being nice to the 'newbie'
I find it funny that they took it seriously too. "kebab munching leb" haha

 

Oh, and Sandeep - I don't really remember meeting you at the first meet, I was kinda rushing around trying to talk to everyone, didn't take in any names.
But, I do remember talking to you on SAU forums about a year ago when I was going to buy a zed.

no need to defend the zeds man, its good others thing the zeds are shit i actually really like it to a limit though... its funny to see that other car owners comment on the zed when they havnt even owned one.... just love the look on peoples faces when they see the zeds perform like they didnt think...

ok before the immaturity in this thread becomes any worse, this isn't high school where if someone disagrees with you, you go and find someone to back you up in a arguement. No one is interested in convincing them.

Zed owners are used to all the haters who know nothing about the car yet feel the need to write them off. We're not interested what anyone else thinks and are happy to keep our mouths shut and let them think what they like.

Point of a zed is that it does everything, you realise the fact it's not be the best at anything but it sets a surprisingly high standard in everything else and can easily forgive its short comings. If you did push the car to its limits though, you'll be surprised by how well it handles and how safe it feels despite all the bullshit flying around.

Those who want to win drag races go off and buy a GTR or Supra. Those who want something that handles on rails because they're shit drivers, they go buy EVOs or STIs. And for the rest of us who don't really give a shit about proving how awesome we are, the zed fits the bill pretty well. Unless of course you're icer jk bill, you're alright mate.

 

a bit biased there dont u think? i dont agree with this. i think u would fall in love with an evo's handling if you took one for a hard hills run...take franz for example he wants to take his competition to the next level hence owning an evo now... personally i love them, i just hate the interior and feel of the car it seriously feels like ur in a normal lancer with balls... other than that i love the evo's and sti's

sorry to remind you the virtues 300zx

no1 / i dont think the MR 2 won car of the year the zx did a number of times.

no2 / i did not see the MR 2 in clarksons top 100 cars list i think the zx was there

no3 / the zx did not really change that much in body shape for 10 years, except for a few small changes. thats how good a car it was. even today the twin turbo can beat the 350 zed by a large margin. and a nunber of others in a straight line or around corners.

for what its worth i like the MR2, both cars have there good and bad points. in the end there is no argument. to each his own.

what i am trying to get across is dont sell the 300zx short, just drive a good example of one make up your own mind, dont go by hear say.
